Grace McIntyre

GRACE THEODORA MCINTYRE
(née SIEBEN)
December 13, 1939 – November 24, 2025
It is with profound love and sadness that we announce the passing of Grace McIntyre. Grace was the eldest of four children born to Ambrose and Lena Sieben in Macklin, Saskatchewan, Dec 13, 1939. She grew up surrounded by family, laughter and prairie strength. At sixteen, she left home to work in Edmonton — independent, capable, and ready for the world.
She later reconnected with Murray, the love of her life, and together they built a long, enduring partnership based on friendship and love. They married in Kamloops, BC in 1960, and Murray’s career with RBC brought them to many communities in British Columbia. Wherever they lived, Grace created warmth, friendship, and a welcoming home. On October 29 2025, they celebrated 65 years of marriage — a remarkable testament to devotion, perseverance and love.
Grace was vibrant, outgoing and naturally social — a storyteller with a bright smile and a style uniquely her own. She loved music, theatre, and any excuse to dress beautifully — whether for an evening out, a family gathering, or even a simple shopping day. Though she only travelled to Mexico a few times, those trips stayed imprinted on her heart and sparked her lasting love of travel shows and new places beyond her reach.
Her life held mostly years of joy, adventure, and deep connection, with some seasons of challenge that shaped her in quieter ways. Through every change, her love for her family remained constant — the steady centre of her life.
Grace spent 18 years devoted to raising her children before beginning a successful career as a retail sales manager, retiring at 60. She affectionately referred to her grandchildren as her “eight angels.” To them, she was a Grandma Gracie, full of sparkle — playful, gentle, quick to laugh, and generous with hugs, treats and shared joy.
After retirement, Grace and Murray returned to Macklin, and later moved to Winnipeg in 2021 to be closer to immediate family.
Grace will be cremated. In accordance with her wishes, a funeral service will take place at a later date, when she may be laid to rest beside Murray in their hometown of Macklin, Saskatchewan — the place she began, and where her story will continue in memory.
Grace lived a life of colour, connection, resilience, and grace. She leaves behind love, laughter, and a legacy that will live on in all who knew her.
Grace McIntyre (née Sieben) will lovingly be missed by her beloved husband of 65 years, Murray McIntyre, and their children: Jamie, Jacquie (Peter), and Todd (Theresa); grandchildren Alex (Clare), Cassidy (Brad), Anthony (Justice), Matthew (Keanna), Nicolina, Mitchell, Cameron, Jakob, and step granddaughter Naia (Michael), she is also survived by her sister Renee Sieben, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and dear extended family. She was predeceased by her parents Ambrose and Lena Sieben, her siblings Millie and Jimmy, and her first daughter Mary Grace, who died in infancy — a child she carried tenderly in her heart throughout her entire life.
Special thanks to the ER nurses and Doctors at the Victoria General Hospital, and the Nurses and Care aids at Riverview Health Centre. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Rest in peace, my dear friend and neighbor. I learned so much from Grace in such a short time that it feels like I've known her my whole life. Her love for life, beauty—she was so beautiful, so charming. Talking to her was fascinating for me. She always had a good story to tell me and helped me improve my English pronunciation. She was always so affectionate and enthusiastic. That is how I prefer to remember you, dear Grace. Peace and comfort to your family.

So many happy memories of good times dating back to 1972 of Grace and the McIntyre family which I will never forget, especially the trade shows that we worked in Vancouver & Kelowna

I have fond memories of Grace and Murray's visits to us. My husband was their best man and played ball with Murray when both were in RBC and Scotia banks in Kamloops in the 60's. I went to Maclan for their 50th anniversary. Rest in peace Gracie. See you in heaven. Keep everyone laughing! Miss you!💗

It is with great sadness that we learn about the passing of this beautiful lady. I have many special memories of having Grace for our neighbor. Growing up in the house in Port Coquitlam. Grace always welcomed us into her home. No one ever went hungry,as there was always something left over on the stove to share. The memories of sleeping in the comfy feather bed, the soft sheets against my skin.
We celebrated a baby shower for my first born(Cody) in that house on Glade court. The laughter and the love will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace Mrs McIntyre.
Love the Phillips family😘❤️
