BONNIE MCNAUGHTON

November 17, 1980 - May 1, 2025

With heavy hearts and great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Bonnie McNaughton on May 1, 2025.

She leaves to mourn her children, Tyson, Gavin, Zoey, and Zack; her parents, Lawrence Doerksen and Lori Sabeski; her sister Holly Doerksen; sister-in-law Shannon (Mike) Bewick; mother-in-law Karen McNaughton; along with numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Bonnie was predeceased by her husband John in 2022.

Bonnie was born in Winnipeg Manitoba. She grew up and attended school in St. Vital at St. Germain, Dr. DW Penner, Minnetonka and Glenlawn Collegiate.

After her graduation from high school, Bonnie worked p/t at The Real Canadian Super Store till her job as a card dealer at Club Regent where she worked till the birth of her twins in 2012.

Bonnie opened her home daycare and was so proud of it. She loved being with the children and made special bonds with the parents.

Unfortunately, she had to give up the day care after John passed away. She then worked at Torrid and lastly at Rent All Super Center.

Bonnie loved to spend time at the lake. She loved visiting with family at Pioneer beach, then at her parent’s home (the Cabin) at Bird River.

Bonnie suffered physically and mentally after John’s passing, but fought desperately to be there for her children whom she loved and was very proud of. Unfortunately, love doesn’t heal a broken heart.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at St Boniface ICU, Shannon, Mike, Jason, Tamara, Scott, Kim, Tiffany, Jailah, Duane, and Erin for giving us strength at the hospital.

A private Celebration of Life was held on Saturday May 24.

AS I SIT IN HEAVEN

As I sit in heaven

And watch you everyday,

I try to let you know with signs,

I never went away.

I hear you when you’re laughing,

And watch you as you sleep.

I even place my arms around you

To calm you while you weep.

I see you wish the days away,

Begging to have me home.

So I try to send you signs

So you know you are not alone.

Don’t feel guilty that you have life

That was denied to me.

Heaven is truly beautiful,

Just you wait and see.

So live your life, laugh again,

Enjoy your life, be free.

Then I know with every breath you take,

You’ll be taking one for me.

Bonnie’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

I will remember Bonnie and your amazing family always and forever! The most loyal and beautiful family I have ever met. Bonnie and I shared list of momenta with our pregnancies with Tyson and Christopher being so close together. And her wonderful family always having my back as I upended my first Salon. Her love and commitment to family and friends made her into the most amazing woman I have ever met. Doerksen family is a family that I am proud of to have had in my life. You will be loved and missed forever Bonnie. And all my love, prayers and thanks for everything goes out to those beautiful children, her loving parents and Georges sister.. prayers, love and thoughts are with all of you.
