I worked with Val at 2 CDN AIR DIV HQ Winnipeg. She was a kind, humble and very funny person. I am happy to call her my friend. I drove Val quite often to her bus stop on Ness Avenue, when we would go home from work. Sometimes I would pick her up on the way in to work as she walked down Air Force Way. Val always took the bus to and from work. She was such a strong woman and always looked for the good in people. Although Val was a very private person, over the years that I knew her she would sometimes open up to me about her life. It was always great to talk with Val at work, she would be there to listen when I needed her. When she retired from DND all that I knew was that she wanted to take care of her Dad, but he passed not long after.  Next on her agenda was to move to California to be with her daughter. We lost touch, but I always knew she was a really great Mom and Gramma. She talked often about her children and what they had accomplished. I am extremely sad that she is gone. My sincere sympathy to Val's family. Blessings, Cheryl Woods
