Miss Me – But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road

And the sun has set for me.

I want no rites in a gloom-filled room!

Why cry for a soul set free!

Miss me a little – but not too long

And not with your head bowed low.

Remember the love that we once shared

Miss me – but let me go

For this is a journey we all must take

And each must go alone.

It’s all part of the master’s plan

A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart

Go to the friends we know

And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.

Miss me – but let me go.

Although Bob is a few years older than I, I remember when he used to help my Dad, Bill Brown, on our farm in the summers. He had such a great wit, a hearty laugh & was always such a great guy to have at family gatherings.  I truly admired him and I'm sure his family all have cherished memories of him.  My deepest condolences to you all! :"Miss me, but let me go." Our condolences to the family. We are sorry to hear of Bobs passing. Bob was a cousin on the Barron side. Bob sold my dad his first T.V. in 1953, when he had his shop on Portage Ave. in St. James. The first  T. V.  in the neighborhood. My Mom and Dad bought lots of their furniture from Bob at Eatons.  I lost touch with Bob, until Christine opened her store in Beausejour. Bob used to come to visit Christine and visit us. Hello Christine. Bob was always such an outgoing guy, knew so many people. He will be missed. Ann & Gerald Graves from Beausejour

We had many family gatherings  went to school together  and played together. We played canasta many times with Bob and Laura . We kept in touch with Bob and Laura until they moved away . We never got to know his family but we still met up with him from time to time. Bob and I curled together for awhile and yes he was a fun guy to be with and I am sure his family will miss him dearly. We were neighbours on Rockwood Road for a quite a few years and Bob helped us with the building of our addition. We also worked on some of his projects, mostly fixing cars, but he took the kids on a few projects that he needed help with and they learned a lot. Our families got along really well and we appreciated his honesty and friendship and we spent many celebration dinners together. We kept in touch with Bob and Laura after they moved to Winnipeg. He seemed to enjoy the care home he was in for the last few years and we will miss him but remember the happy times we shared. The Mialkowski Family

My condolences to you Don and all of your family . I had the opportunity to meet Bob at the Eaton's Warehouse, he was one of the Managers in sales and I worked in the Heavy Goods Distribution Dept.  I always enjoyed going up front to the sales floor and asking Bob if there was any way he could discount that bed or this piece of furniture that I wanted , he would always and I mean always give me the lowest price on everything , sometimes it was  so low it was almost free after our staff discount. Bob always gave me good advice in my personal life too,and that is what I remember most. I also had Bob come to do at least 3 dishwasher installations and all of them are still good. Sorry I digress, what I am  trying to say is Bob was a humble, thoughtful and very humorous gentleman and I am glad I had the chance to meet him.

I had to smile watching the tribute seeing Uncle Bob with his rolled up sleeves.  That is exactly how I remember him walking through Eatons.  Funny the little things that stick in your memory.

Oh Gramps, aka Papa, you are going to be truly missed. I have the biggest place in my heart for you. Thank you for being my rock, my shoulder to cry on, and such an incredible grandpa altogether. Our regular conversations, all of our visits, the drives we used to take together, and all the corny jokes, will forever be imprinted in my heart & mind.  I remember when you & grandma joined my grade 3 class for grandparents week and brought that damn mutt, chichi. I cherish this memory so much♡ Continuing to make you proud is what I will strive to do🥰 Love always, Megan.

I only had the pleasure of knowing Bob for a short time in his life but I really appreciated his great wit and the way he made me feel like one of the family. My condolences go out to all of the family.

A very kind and gentle man whom I enjoyed talking with very much. May the wind be at your back and the sun shine upon your face and may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance among the stars. You will be greatly missed.

This is an amazing way to remember my grandfather.  I can feel the essence of every picture as if I was going back in time myself.  These pictures warm me and I hope they warm the hearts of those that remember him as I do.
