VIVIAN FELICIA MOORE

(Née Blair)

August 6, 1945 – December 7, 2025

With great sorrow we announce the passing of Vivian Moore – most remarkable wife, mother, grandmother, sister & friend after a brief battle with cancer.

She leaves behind to cherish her legacy- her loving husband Gordon; daughters, Caryn Barr (David) & Jaime-Dawn Bird; stepsons, Christopher & Michael Moore; favourite grandsons, Brendan Barr, Dillon Barr, Jeffrey Boonstra & Matthew Boonstra; brother Murray Blair (Marcia) & sister-in-law Brenda Blair.

She was predeceased by her parents, Earl & Victoria Blair; & brothers, Robert & Clifton.

Vivian grew up in East Kildonan attending Salisbury, Munroe Jr. High, & Miles Mac, loved school & knew in Grade 1 that she wanted to teach in elementary school. She spent 30 years teaching in RETSD. School was her happy place & she enjoyed every student she taught.

In 1997 Vivian met Gordon & they married in 2001. She told everyone that she had met “a nice man”, their favourite song was “Keeper of the Stars”. Their marriage was a truly happy marriage - nary a cross word & usually on the same page.

When Vivian retired, they did some travelling but her favourite place was their timeshare @ Elkhorn Resort in Riding Mountain National Park. They always spent a week there each June & September (when the autumn leaves were glorious).

She believed,

“Take it one day at a time

& pray for guidance.”

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on January 10, 2026 at Grace Lutheran Church, 211 Kimberly Ave.

Special thanks to the palliative care staff at Riverview for their care & compassion.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to MB Heart & Stroke or CancerCare MB.

Mrs. Moore- known to me as Mrs. Bird taught me for three years at Prince Edward. She was one of a kind and a major influence in my own career as an educator. I had the pleasure of knowing her into adulthood as a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She leaves a legacy of many kids lives she has touched through her kind and consistent presence. She will be missed.
