ELIE MORRISSEAU
June 6, 1948 - March 9, 2022
Elie Morrisseau, 73, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Elie was born June 6, 1948, in Crane River, Manitoba to Raymond and Clara Morrisseau.
Elie spent his younger years growing up in Crane River where he began developing his strong work ethic. Many winter days were spent with his father and grandfather traveling by horse and caboose to the nearby lake to fish. Fishing nets were set up as a means to provide for and support the family.
The Morrisseau family later moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, and the motivation that Elie possessed only grew. Elie began to work in many fields of work from construction to a career as a bus driver for Winnipeg Transit. Elie’s work ethic and pride was also apparent within his own home. He was often seen outside doing yard work or inside the house making sure everything was organized and spotless.
Elie will also be remembered because of his ability to make everyone around him laugh. He would often tell silly jokes or sing a variety of songs that he made up himself.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sisters Susie and Judy; children Kirk (Mary), Terry (Colleen), Teresa, Kimberly (J.P.), Angel, John, and Jasmine; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Elie was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Clara; brothers Andy and Herby; and sisters Patsy and Thelma.
A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday March 18, 2022, at 603 Wellington Crescent at Academy Road (Unitarian Church).
Elie's family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.
