GREGORY WILLIAM MUZIK

November 14, 1964- November 13, 2020

It is with untold sorrow I announce the passing of Greg Muzik on Friday November 13, 20 at St.Boniface Hospital.

Greg was one of a kind and will be hugely missed but never forgotten by anyone who knew him. Especially his Wife, Cora (the love of his life, his Coralouski); Daughter Kelly (Tom); Son Ian (Carrie); Grandchildren, Carter, Makayla, Jenna and Nicholas as well as in-laws, cousins and many wonderful friends. You know who you are!

Greg was pre deceased by his Grandparents; Parents, Bill and Paulie; as well as his brother Dave.

Greg loved life and lived for the moments. His family, truck Betsy, and cottage at Twin Lakes Beach meant everything to him. He was an avid Rangers and Jets fan. He enjoyed NHRA and collected Funny Cars. He was so intelligent and had an intense love of trivia. He could name most songs after only a few beats. He loved to travel; one of the best trips was in 2016, where all ten of us went to Florida and on a Disney cruise. He so enjoyed watching their faces, but I think he was the biggest kid of them all!

His career involved delivery driving and there was nothing he liked better than to meet and chat with the people on his runs. Once he had to go on disability in 2014 due to heart disease his new passions became happy wandering in malls or Walmart in the winter and living the life in “Our Happy Place” at Twin from April to Freeze up and sometimes beyond. He never let his limitations get in the way of living!

Greg looked forward to family Sunday’s every week and loved challenging the Grandkids to video games. Even better if he actually beat them on occasion! We will Always remember Greg fondly whenever we hear the Gilligan’s Island theme song. At least once a weekend his tone-deaf self would sing it as loud as could be and we’d laugh and laugh. You are the Skipper now my love.

He fought the battle so hard. He just wanted to go back to the lake.

I’d like to thank the whole team at St. Boniface hospital for all of their care over the years and especially these last six weeks. It wouldn’t be Greg to do things predictably. I’d also like to thank Dr D Haligowski for his care of his somewhat difficult patient over the last ten years. He definitely had a mind of his own.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Greg’s memory to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the St.Boniface Hospital Foundation.

It’s only fitting I use this picture with the geese flying behind as they did on our wedding day taken where you will be going back to.

Greg's family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held, but if you are ever down by Twin please stop on by to say hello and share a tale or two. That he would love.

I remember Greg and Cora's wedding.  To see the love shared by the 2 of them was amazing.  They had a short time together but many people could learn from the love they shared. Greg's smile was infectious.  He made Cora one happy woman.  Greg will be missed by Cora and her family.

Our heart goes out to Cora and her family. We have known Greg since the day he came into his mom and dad’s life.  He and his brother David brought so much joy to their lives. We could always see them at the lake skiing, fishing, walking, etc. Always kind always polite always friendly.  We will miss him.

A life well loved and lived. I did not have the good fortune to ever meet Greg, what I do know for sure is that he brought my long time friend and her family the joy they deserved.  I was crying watching this, such wonderful memories. Never forgotten 🦖🥰

It was heartbreaking when Greg passed away. He was Cora’s love of her life, and she was devastated when he died. We all miss him so very much. There is a big gap in our lives now. He was a funny guy, always making us laugh. He lived his life as he wished. I have not been to their house since he died, but l hope to, soon. Life is never the same when one loses their spouse. My heart aches for Cora, and it always will. She is a strong woman. We should all copy her strength. My sincere condolences.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Greg;however, I know his beautiful soul brought a profound love and depth to Cora and her family. I also know he had excellent taste in humour, women, and overall philosophy. I am sending much Love and Light to those who grieve him and feel his absence so keenly—for his beautiful soul surely was welcomed home with loving arms and he is at peace.  Linda Guest

We are saddened by the loss of a wonderful man. We are from Twin Lakes Beach with many fond memories of Greg, Polly and Billy with Emil Naujoks. Such a sudden and tragic loss. Love the geese! May peace be with you during these difficult times.

"Hey Mrs S how's it going?" Man am I going to miss those words. I will always treasure the enlightening conversations we shared. Be it about current affairs, politics or our favourite, history.  I loved watching Greg's face, it often said more than his words. The one special thing was how he looked at my best friend. It said clearly, "I love you Cora Louski". Greg was a true gentleman, kind, trustworthy, generous and always there for you. I will miss you my friend. Rest in peace. Mrs. S
