He had a passion for the outdoors which was reflected in his love of canoeing, camping, mountain biking, tennis, and downhill skiing. He remained cycling, skiing, and playing tennis into his 90's.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Piotr Czaykowski and Nurse Sean Share at Cancer Care Manitoba, Dr. Mark Kristijanson and his team at Urgent Cancer Care Manitoba, and the dedicated staff at Riverview Health Centre's Palliative Care unit 3E for their compassion during Harry's final days.

Going back some 25 years here. On the occasional night that I would sleep in the basement at the Neufeld residence, I would often get to see him in the morning while having coffee. The whole family would be up actually. And Mrs. Neufeld would be making some breakfast. Mr. Neufeld and I would talk about many different things. Sometimes cars, sometimes wood carving. My most cherished and vivid memory of him was seeing him in his wood carving space, his feet surrounded by shavings while he whittled and carved away at his latest creation. Wish I had my camera at that moment. It was a pleasure to have known him and he certainly will be missed by all who knew him.

When I saw Harry's obit and birth year it caught my eye It is a common name around here. On further checking it is the Harry I briefly new. Harry's parents Sara & Henrick helped my family the Scheurles (Otto & Trudy) with their immigration into Canada in 1954. The family was very kind to us newcomers offering lodging when it was hard to find. I was 11 years old when we arrived and I remember Sargent Jewellers very well. My parents (now deceased) had long ago moved to Victoria with my younger brother. However I am still in Winnipeg having married & raised 3 children. I am forever grateful to the Neufeld family.
