HARVEY NEWMAN

December 28, 1946 - September 23, 2022

We are saddened to announce that Harvey (Harv) Newman passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022, at Seven Oaks General Hospital.

Mourning his loss are his wife, Pat; children, Brent (Elaine), Mark (Leanne), and Tyler; and his four grandchildren, Taylor, Alicia, Nicolas, and Noah. He is also survived by his sisters, Irene Dimler and Jeannette Rattai (Herman); and many nieces and nephews. Harvey is predeceased by his parents John and Olga Newman; sister Lena; and brother Lawrence.

Harvey grew up in Moosehorn, Manitoba and married Pat in 1970. As a young man he loved life and enjoyed fast cars. Many will remember his 1967 Rebell SST, although it wasn't long before he was driving a Mazda station wagon. He got his private pilot's license and wooed his future-wife Pat with plane rides in a two-seater Cessna while they were dating. So many fun stories that would be hard to believe, but many of you know them.

Harvey started his career in construction and graduated from Red River College which led him to work in many places across Canada. He worked in this industry from 1966-2010. He made many lifelong friends along the way.

In 2011 Harvey's health started to deteriorate and he had to attend dialysis at Seven Oaks Hospital three times a week. Despite the health struggles Harvey never complained and continued living life to the fullest, visiting friends, family, and spending time at their trailer at Steep Rock- his favourite place.

Harvey had a quiet faith, and he is in the presence of the Lord. He was a gentle soul who was a friend to many.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital Dialysis Unit 3 for their compassion and understanding over the last 12 years. Cremation has taken place.

As per Harvey's wishes a private gathering will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022.

We were so saddened to hear of Harv's passing. We cherish many memories annd laughs we have had. Especially the one in Victoria when Carl saw a Volkswagen and the engine is in the back and Harv said we can't tell if its coming or going! Harv was a very likable kind guy. We will miss him but he is free from pain and with Jesus. May God surround you Pat and family. Love and hugs. Carl and Wiffy
