Toan Trinh Nguyen

TOAN TRINH NGUYEN
October 30, 1955 – December 25, 2025
Strong and enduring till the end, with immense sorrow, we announce the sudden passing of Toan Trinh Nguyen on December 25, 2025. A beloved husband and father. A devoted son and brother. A kind and treasured friend. Toan passed peacefully in his home at the age of 70.
Born on October 30, 1955 in Saigon, Vietnam, Toan immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 2006 to provide a better life for his family. Toan excelled in school, valued education and built a successful career as a Microbiologist dedicated to food safety. Toan lived a life defined by generosity — caring for his siblings with disabilities, supporting his aging parents, and later, devoting himself to his wife and son.
Starting in his late 40s, Toan endured a challenging life of permanent paralysis on his right side after surviving multiple strokes. Yet his determination never faltered. He relearned how to live, mastering independence by cooking, writing, and even drawing with his non-dominant arm. A gifted chef, he prepared delicious meals every day with steadfast love.
Toan was endlessly curious and found joy in learning something new every day, even on his last days. Toan was passionate about languages, history, philosophy, science and current events — If he could, he would have lived inside a library. He always said "go do it so you know" — a love for the world through curiosity.
Above all, Toan valued doing what was right over what was easy. Whether that was putting himself at risk to help a friend or telling difficult truths that made a difference. His life was one of integrity, quiet strength, and selfless giving. Toan will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his resilience, love of learning and compassion.
