DEBBIE ORAM

December 27, 1956 - April 22, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Debbie Oram. She was a beloved daughter of Jean; sister to Ken, Michael (Andrea), and Pat Evans; mother to Jordan (Kara) Hanna and Terra (Terry) Dreger; aunt to Marc and Jason Evans; grandmother to August and Noah Dreger; and a friend to many.

Debbie died on Wednesday April 22 due to heart related complications while at work. We are grateful that she was surrounded by people who cared for her deeply. The staff at Sierra Courier were more than colleagues to mom, they were her family. To MaryAnn, thank you for holding mom’s hand when she was afraid. To Doug and Ryan who who did everything possible at the time to keep her here with us a little longer, your efforts were not in vain. Although she isn’t here with us anymore, heaven has gained another angel. One who will be looking over all of us to bring love and joy from above. She has been reunited with her grandfather, mother, sister, and many others that she loved who have passed before her.

Debbie loved her job. Whether it was on the open road doing deliveries, in the office dispatching, or other administrative duties as assigned. Debbie was always quick to bring a smile to those around her. Either through her witty charm and sarcastic nature, or her infectious chatter and smile.

Mom, we will miss our visits to Lockport, popcorn, pizza, and movie nights and everything in between.

A celebration of life honouring Debbie's life has taken place, thank you to all of those who attended.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Christmas Cheer Board in Debbie’s honour would be greatly appreciated.

During times of loss, we are reminded about how short and fleeting life can be. Even more so during the rare circumstances we are in today. There is a saying that with every loss there is a lesson. Let us be ever thankful for the time we have and spend it wisely with those we love. For in the end, it’s not the things we have or money gained and spent. It’s the experiences and adventures we have been on that matter the most.

Friends and relatives are encouraged to share memories, stories, and/or condolences for the family by using the comment section on this page.

Rest in Peace Debbie. For you are among the angels now. Rest in Peace.

Who says life is ‘fair’? Deb leaves us all much too soon, but not without beautiful memories. She was my first love at 18 and through the years we were together she gifted me with two wonderful and very special children that were the joy of her life.    Life was a true adventure for Deb… she had a passion for many things including her job, taking road trips (especial with parents in the motor home or going to the States), camping at the lake, going to Drive-Ins, reading ‘thick books’, and most importantly, just hanging out with family.    I loved how Deb just went along with things…no fuss and no bother, always rising to the occasion – it was in her nature. Perhaps the most special quality of Deb was her persistent ‘love of life’ and being comfortable ‘in the present’.    Deb will remain a part of my life forever and her contributions never forgotten. I love you Deb, rest in peace and know you are always in our hearts and thoughts.  ❤

You were one of the kindest people I knew. You went through a lot in Life but always seemed to see the good, and always managed to carry on. You were a great example to your children. Santino loved you very much. You were one of his favourite babysitters. I have fond memories of our Beliveau days raising our kids with Kim and Keith. Time to fly sweet girl!

❤❤Gone too soon. Deb, you were my favourite sister, (don’t tell Pat) you did so much for so many for so long.  Your energy, your heart and your consideration for others was unmatched. The times we spent together over the years became fewer but were always treasured. Rest easy sis, love you always, Michael and Andrea Oram
