CAMERON JACK ORLOFF
June 18, 2006 – February 17, 2026
We are devastated to announce the loss of our dear Cameron Jack Orloff (Tuesday, February 17th, 2026). Left to cherish his memory are his family & friends, teammates, coaches, teachers, neighbours, and community.
Cameron was born at the St. Boniface hospital at 6:18 pm on June 18th, 2006. He grew up in River Heights, started at On the Move, then JB Mitchell, River Heights, and finally Kelvin school. Through these years he accumulated countless friends and teammates. Cameron played on a variety of community soccer, basketball, volleyball, football and hockey teams. He was known for his determination and fearless effort.
In the summers spent at Victoria Beach he loved swimming, riding his bike, and participating in the organized activities. He was proud to eventually end up working as a tennis attendant and enjoyed leading children’s games at the courts.
Cameron had a way with kids. He always had the time and energy for rambunctious but caring play. He got a kick out running around leading the fun and laughter. There are a lot of younger brothers, sisters, cousins, and neighborhood kids that looked up to Cameron.
In the past year, he was proud to be apprenticing as an elevator technician. He was excited about new tools and the perks that came with working for a top Winnipeg company. He spoke highly of his workmates and was looking forward to progressing in this field.
Cameron cast a wide net and made deep connections. His infectious smile and warm charm transcended age and touched many. His friendships were generational. Our beautiful boy lit up the room and was the life of the party. He was an organizer and a connector. Sometimes affectionately known as “the captain”, he often came up with adventurous plans for his circles of friends. His friends describe him as loyal, genuine, and optimistic.
He will be dearly missed by many. We are so very lucky to have had him in our lives. We were fortunate to make so many beautiful memories together and will cherish them forever.
We would like to thank the many teachers and coaches that gave their time to Cameron and the community. Thank you for making our world a better place. We would also like to thank STARS and the staff at HSC ICU for their gentle and thoughtful support during our most difficult time.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Caboto Centre on Tuesday, February 24 at 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, hug your loved ones, play hard, crush good times, and cherish every moment.
To keep his memory alive, we have created a sports scholarship to give support to children who may not have otherwise had the opportunity. Support for this fund is appreciated as is time spent volunteering to give children the same opportunities that were so meaningful to our Cameron.

We are so grateful for the love and support that has been shown to our family. From a meal train that filled up in 45 minutes, to care packages dropped off at our front door, to a steady stream of flowers and messages of sympathy. Thank you to the overwhelming generosity of those who have donated to the Memorial Sports Fund – especially those younger kids who donated $11 and you know it was their own money they wanted to give. Every gesture of kindness and care has been appreciated more than you could ever know.

Daria, Kelly, Leah, Sharon & Grant - My heart is truly broken for you all, having to bear this unbearable loss of your bright light boy. I first met Daria as my oldest's young, cool, fun 4th grade teacher who took them to Sargent Sundae and for sushi when they studied Japan. She was pregnant with Cameron that year and her class of 9 yr olds and their student teacher put on a little baby shower for her and then she came back with him when he was about 10 days old so they/we could all meet him. Our relationship continued thru school and class events when she then taught my youngest and then my niece afterwards, for whom one of her highlights was Daria braiding her hair into a princess braid for school pictures one morning... The ability that Daria had/has, to make such personal connections with students and parents very clearly embodied itself in Cameron. There was kindness and connection in every interaction and the words written and spoken reflect the amazing young man Cameron was....The depth of family love and connection was apparent in every conversation with Sharon (we were coworkers for about 14 yrs) and the loss must literally feel unbearble for all who loved Cameron. His bright light spirit leaps off the photos in the smile and the twinkle in his eyes - I believe that's his heart light shining out into the world. Finding a way to claw something positive from such a tragic loss, does not surprise anyone who even remotely knows these Franco Orloffs. I (and I'm sure, countless others) am humbled to be able to help Cameron's legacy forever live on...Sometimes things are just too big for words and this is one of those times...Sometimes life is just really too unfair. My heart is with you all and I wish you comfort of the memories made with your beautiful boy and that peace will find its way to your heart, knowing that his selfless, caring spirit will forever shine... You have my very deepest sympathies as you navigate this profound loss. Much love to you all - Darlene, Dylan, Spencer & Jessica (King)

We are all brokenhearted for your unimaginable loss. Cameron's service changed me. The way everyone spoke, the stories, love, energy, grief mixed with joy. Profound. It was a beautiful example of a life wel lived. Cameron's shiney soul will live on and has reminded us all how to really live now. ❤️💫 Sending you all the love.

I have had the privilege of teaching both Cameron & Leah Phys Ed at Kelvin. What wonderful kids! I must have had Cameron first class of the day in grade 10, he was rarely on time....but he would come in with that beautiful smile, confidence and charm and I was probably less annoyed that he was late and more happy he was joining us. I would bump into Cam at VB and he was always smiling and happy to say hi, even though I know it can be a drag to run into your teachers outside of school. He taught my kids tennis lessons at the beach and was always so good with the kids! My condolences to Daria, Kelly, Leah, all of his family & friends and anyone who had the privilege of knowing Cam, he was a special young man.

Cam always coming to A slot woodworking a tad late with a smile on his face and an apology on his lips. Cam and the boys he sat with always made teaching a lot more enjoyable in the first period, my heart goes out to everyone who's lives were made brighter by having Cam in their proximity, because my life definitely was.
