To the Pannu family.   Please accept my belated condolences for the loss of your husband and father. I just recently learned of his passing . Mr Pannu was my Biology teacher at Elmwood High (1968/68 ,19688/69) Although our class wasn’t the most academically inclined, Mr.Pannu never gave up on us!! His warm smile and dedicated teaching made him our favourite teacher ! I followed in his footsteps and became a science teacher myself. After a few years of teaching I learned that Mr. Pannu was retiring . During one noon hour I called him at his school to congratulate him. When I introduced myself, he replied “Yes I remember you” I joked about only having about 30 years left before I could retire! The last thing I said to him was “ I just want you to know you made a difference in my life!” There was a long pause then he quietly replied “Thank you “ Hopefully I have made even a small difference in the lives of my students over the last 42 years!! Rest In Peace Mr. Pannu!!

As a student of Elmwood High ‘75, I recall Mr. Pannu’s enthusiasm in class. He truly wanted his students to understand what he was teaching. His frequently used saying after presenting a point was, “do you follow my reasoning?”  He made his subject one of my favourite classes.  Colin McRae

Dear Carol and sons Del, Dave, Bill, and Amrick please accept our condolences over the passing of your husband and dad, Ranjit. His picture is just as we remember him when we lived near you in Ft. Richmond - you boys in school and sports and Carol you and I in Y Neighbours. He was a gentle man who contributed so much to his teaching profession. May he rest in peace. May you give each other support during this special time as you mourn his passing and cherish the memories of all the things you did together with him. In deepest sympathy, Chris, Dave, Richard, and James Butterill

Mr. Pannu was one of my most favourite teachers when I attended Elmwood High School.  He was always kind , smiling and helpful and a wonderful teacher with a sense of humour..  I became a teacher myself, maybe influenced in part by good teachers like Mr. Pannu.  Rest In Peace, Mr. Pannu.  Condolences to all the family.

A great career teaching the young minds in Winnipeg.  As a son of two teachers and also living on McGill, Mr. Pannu and his two sons  were fantastic neighbours!  We appreciate his efforts as a teacher and as a great father in the community of Fort Richmond.
