I am one of the "Deepwater Girls" Jean used to swim with after she and Dave moved back to St. John's. She joined our group when her sister, Lorraine, brought her along. Jean was a lovely person! She was quieter than her sister, but just as warm and kind. Her sewing skills really were fabulous and we all benefitted from her baking skills from time to time. We hadn't seen much of Jean in recent years since she moved from St. John's to Bristol's Hope. Occasionally, she would join us for coffee when she was in town, but my fondest memory is the day a bunch of us went out to her home in Bristol's Hope to visit. What an incredible day it was - sunny and not a cloud in the sky! And, the wind wasn't blowing your head off! She made us lunch and showed us through her and Dave's beautiful home with the absolutely incredible ocean view and brought us over to see the boat house. We had such a wonderful visit! To Dave and family, my heart goes out to you and I pray that the many wonderful memories you have of Jean will comfort you until you meet with her again.

I met Jean through her daughter Leigh Anne. One thing that became very remarkable to me about Jean was her generosity and passion for tinkering with sewing machines. At the time, I was pretty sure my PFAFF Hobby 1042 (which I loved so much) was headed straight for the landfill. Jean asked if I could leave my machine with her so she could see what was wrong with it. About a week or so later she returned my sewing machine, it was cleaned, freshly oiled and running smoothly. I appreciate her kindness and generosity. We need more people like Jean in the world. My condolences to all family and friends, Jean will be missed.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Jean was a wonderful, kind and caring person. She was so full of fun. Cherish all those happy memories.

We met Jean through Leigh Ann during the family's thanksgiving dinner in 2024 and 2025 and she was such a delight. She had spent the whole day prepping and baking for her family and she welcomed us with open arms.
Our thoughts are with the Eveleigh and Parry families.

This was the best picture of Jean, she always had a smile on her face and a funny story to tell, She made everyday special and even when things didn't go the way we hoped. Jean was so kind and went out of her way to make sure everyone felt heard.. I feel so blessed to be able to spend time with her this visit when her memories were clear and she was Jean.

My sincere condolences to all of you and all Jean's family. Six years ago I connected with Jean. Concern for our beloved friend Eleanor brought us together. We became long distance friends sharing phone calls and text messages. I soon learned what a wonderful woman she was. She loved to travel, walk on the beach, sail and bake but her biggest passion was her family.

May you all hold in your heart all the love she had for you.

June 16th I lost a friend but I will always be grateful for the short time she was in my life.

My heartfelt condolences to Dave, Kim, Sheldon, Leigh Anne, extended family and friends of Jean. She was a lovely woman. I worked with her at the NMU for a number of years. She was full of life, kind, loving, caring, gentle, knowledgeable, dedicated, considerate, motherly, supportive, inspiring, and a mentor. And yet those words do not really capture the essence of what it had been like to have her as a co-worker and friend. Rest in Peace Jean. You will be missed.
