KENNETH RICHARD PARTRIDGE

March 10, 1947 – September 22, 2021

With heavy hearts, we announce that Ken passed away peacefully after a brief illness, on September 22, 2021, at the Grace Hospice with his family by his side.

He is loved and missed by his wife Judy; his children Kirstie (Clint), Andrew (Cheryl), Callie, and Sean; and his grandchildren.

In his youth, growing up in England, Ken was an avid Motocross racer, outdoor enthusiast, strong supporter of Cheltenham Town Football Club, Fulham Football Club, and English soccer. He was a proud Brit and had a strong respect for his ancestry. At the age of 19 he ventured to North America, and soon established his roots in Winnipeg where he remained for the rest of his years.

He worked in the U.K. and Canada as a toolmaker, jig-builder, and machinist. He was an instructor at Red River College with extensive teaching experience in machine shop practice, tool and die, and CNC programming. His interests included home repair, gardening, soccer, and old motorcycles. He was a dedicated Winnipeg Blue Bomber and Winnipeg Jets fan. Ken was an incredibly hard worker who was always willing to “give a tune up” if required. He built his own home and a few garages.

Ken spent many years supporting his children’s swimming careers with Manta Swim Club and coaching soccer. He enjoyed travelling and camping, and he loved watching his grandchildren play sports.

Ken was predeceased by his mother Mabel Margaret Partridge (née Ross); his father Sidney Partridge, his sister Annette Mott, and his granddaughter Grace Mary Foucault.

The family will be honouring Ken’s life privately. We give heartfelt thanks to the staff at Riverview Health Centre and the Grace Hospice. If friends so wish, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, Riverview Health Centre, or the Grace Hospice.

Ken was a great teacher. He helped with the  start of career that lasted 47 years. The last 17 years was as an instructor at Red River College . I was sad to hear of his passing.

My thoughts are with you Judy. I knew him as a kind soul searching for a special connection and believing that there was more to this life than the day to day routines. In a visit at Riverview he asked for a prayer not for healing but for comfort. I believe the Lord was with him when he passed. I will miss his Brit smile and accent. John
