I remember making Russian pancakes, which were essentially crepes, at her house on River Road. Lena coached me through the process. telling me not to linger too long after I flipped them before putting it onto a hungry person's plate. I really liked Lena. Because we lived and hour and a half away in Gretna we didn't get to visit much at all.

My condolances to the family. You have lost a very special person. 🩷

As often happens we lose touch with people along life's journey, but I remember well the times we shared when her children were young. We had many family get togethers and on occasion baby sat for each other.  I enjoyed our conversations when sharing our time with a cup of coffee. I along with my husband send condoleces for the loss of your mother and grandmother. Unfortunately we received the notice too late to attend her celebration of life.

Lena

I will miss you, greatly. I loved our conversations. I thank you for supportive comments and actual physically setting up two classrooms in different communities. I will miss the common shared interests in flowers and plants, (your grief over your large tree being cut down), your grief over your cat Bear being lost and the joy of his return, your coming to see me during COVID. I truly felt blessed to have you as a friend. We waded through the tears over losses in family through divorce, we hoped for our children's grief to be circumvented by our love for them. We understood the deep, spiritual role of motherhood and its impact on our own individual women's hearts, who also desired life's treasures. Thank you, Lena, for sharing your truths/your  voice. May the beauty of your song last forever in our memory and in the skies beyond. With much gratitude for having known you, and with love, Your friend, Lynne Gordon.
