Another Angel Got Her Wings

It is with a heavy heart that the family announces Brittany's passing at the age of 30 years.

Brittany fought so extremely hard but lost her battle due to complications from Covid-19. She was a beautiful kind and young lady whose heart was big.

She loved deeply and she was a blessing to our family.  Her family loved her so much and will miss her smile, her laugh, and her warm heart. We will all miss you greatly. “RIP our sweet girl.”

Brittany will be lovingly remembered, and never forgotten, by her mother Suzanne Rilling; father Gary Pawliw (Shannon); grandparents, Dale and Jeannine Rilling and Don and Leah Pawliw; aunt's and uncles, Christine and John Swain and Melanie and Steven Hofer; cousins, Anita and Eric Vandal, Robert and Kaiden Vandal, Jordan, and Kayla and Brooke Hofer; and boyfriend Jonathan Walashek.  In addition to her immediate family, Brittany will be missed by her great-aunts and uncles, extended cousins, and many friends. She was predeceased by her uncle Rickey Pawliw.

The family would like to to extend our thank you to all the doctors, specialists, nurses, medical teams in the Covid Ward as well as the chaplain at Grace Hospital, for their compassion and care of Brittany.  They also want to extend our thank you to the EIA program and case coordinators who we're always there for Brittany. Finally, a huge thank you to all our family and friends who shared their love, support, and prayers.

In keeping with Brittany’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private celebration of her life will be held when it is possible to gather. In the meantime, Brittany’s family kindly requests that her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos and/or sharing your own memories and stories using the comment section on this page.

I went to school with Brittany at the Comp in Selkirk, one the first friends I made entering grade 10. She would always want to chat on the phone. She would do the talking and, I would laugh at all things she told me about her life. Her pizza eating story from a mistake text, and she would laugh. I am going to miss that part about Brittany.

Brittany dated my step son and we had an immediate bond, I nicknamed her Tweety, I was saddened when their relationship ended, but we remained in contact. Unfortunately we drifted apart through the years, but I have fond memories of her and am devastated that her young life was taken by Covid. I am saddened for her Mom Suzanne and extended family, fly free Tweety, until we meet again ❤

Our sweet girl ❤ It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.  A part of us went with you, the day God took you home.  If tears coul build a stairway, and heartaches make a lane, we'd walk our way to heaven, and bring you back again.  In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still, in our heart you hold a place no one could ever fill.  We love you and miss you every day.  RIP Brittany, our beautiful niece and goddaughter.  Love Auntie Christine & Uncle John

Brittany, I'm sorry I wasn't there more for you. After all you were my very first best friend when I moved to Happy Thought School. I didn't know anyone and you were the only one to make me feel welcomed. You always had a big, kind heart and I am thankful for your friendship every single day. Unfortunately life got in the way and we drifted apart but I will always cherish those memories we made in middle school up to high school. God bless you my sweet angel. You'll forever be in my heart.
