FRANK PENNER

September 27, 1947 - August 11, 2022

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Frank at the age of 74.

Frank is survived by sisters Helen Kwan (Francis), Mary Zacharias (Otto), Irene and brothers John (Marilyn), Abe and sister-in-law Glenda Penner and brother-in-law Joe Mikolasek. Also surviving are aunts Susie, Anne, and Betty and uncle Peter and many nieces and nephews .He was predeceased by his parents , brother Ed and sister Linda.

Frank was born in Winkler on September 27, 1947, the fourth of eight children. Frank grew up on the farm in Chortitz where he attended elementary school. Later he attended Winkler High School. After school he had several short term jobs before he landed a job at Motor Coach Industries where he worked for about 45 years.

From his youth Frank was interested in machinery, what made it work and how to take it apart and put it together. He spent many hours trying to make old cars run. He was mechanically gifted and could fix anything.

Frank was an avid Bomber fan and was a long time season ticket holder. He enjoyed fishing whether at Lockport or on weekend getaways. He loved motorcycles and enjoyed driving them for many years. He rode dirt bikes in summer and snowmobiles in winter. He loved nature and spent hours watching nature shows.

Frank was a man of few words. Consequently few few people recognized the thoughtful, kind, and generous person inside. In his quiet way, Frank was devoted to family and was a fixture at all family gatherings. He will be missed.

The family will hold a private memorial  service. In the meantime, Frank's family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

We knew Frank in the late 70s early 80s.  A genuine, authentic individual.  Sorry that we lost touch with him, but have great memories that will be with us forever.  Condolences to the family.
