SLADE MITCHELL PHILLIPS

November 5, 1960 - February 15, 2022

Slade passed to the arms of heaven with his wife Shelly along his side. Slade and Shelly spent their 36th wedding anniversary in 2021 and the love they had for each other is endless. Slade was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the best life he could. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world. He was continuously proud of Brittany and Jamie and always tried his best to love and support them no matter what. They will miss him dearly.

Slade loved fishing, whitewater canoeing, camping, and sleeping under the stars. Anything outdoors, he was in. His favorite areas included The Lake, Tall Timber, The Farm and many more. Slade spent much of his free time at these places and was always ready for an adventure. He was always there for friends and family when they needed him and would always help fix anything and everything. Slade loved going to his girls’ activities and spending time teaching them all he could.

Anyone who knew Slade knew that he was the most loving father and husband. Slade was a fairly private person but not with friends and family. He had one of the biggest hearts and always put others before himself. Slade pushed through a tremendous amount of pain for many years before the battle with cancer ended and he was finally able to rest.

Slade is now reunited with his loving Mother and Father (Della and Mike Phillips), father in-law John Spence and other close family and friends.

The Phillips family would like to send a warm thank-you hug to every single person that was part of his team throughout his battle. You all truly have a special place in our hearts. Thank-You Again.

The Phillips family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.

Until we meet again... WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH.

Shelley: So sorry to hear of Slade's passing today.  Anita and I hade the pleasure of being your next-door neighbors on Christenson for a few years.  I'll remember Slade was such a generous guy and I'll always remember when I was having problems getting something that I bought.  He told me to take his truck to pick it up as if we had known each other for years. You and britany were his main focus.  So sorry and always remember you too.  ❤  Bill Keith

My deepest condolences to Shelley and family. Slade was a guy great and was a wonderful husband and father (you sure can see that!). I still remember the Nortel days with his enthusiasm, the smile on his face and had your back if needed. A guy with a real zest for life. I'm so sorry he had to leave so soon.

Uncle Slade was always willing to me help out and share words of wisdom. I remember one time when he helped me wire in lighting in one of my first cars. They were often called sex lights lol. He also took me to his work in grade 9 for take your kid to work day. My dad was at home injured at the time so uncle stepped up in a big way! Love you and will miss you! I remember when Slade and Shelly took me under their wings after my separation. They took me to the lake and we had so much fun. I really got to know Slade's personality and his sense of humor really came out. I will miss you and your generous nature Slade.

Shelly & girls.  Heart broken to just find out the news. I was lucky to run into Slade two years ago at the Timmy's at unicity.  We talked for about half an hour, and he told me of his illness.  Even so we managed to tease each other and make each other laugh as hard as we did - when we bugged each other at Nortel. We parted giving each other a big hug in the parking lot - it was a very heart felt moment.  Will miss him very much.  Hugs  &❤.
