GERALD “JERRY” POLSON

June 17, 1941 - March 20, 2025

Peacefully, with his family by his side, Jerry left us to be reunited with his love Louise who passed away January 23, 2023.

Left with a huge hole in our hearts are son Brent; and children, Logan & Brayden (mom Laurie); daughter Dineen (Michel); and children, Austin, Lexie & Liana; and countless family and friends.

Dad loved us unconditionally and supported and encouraged whatever crazy ideas we had. He loved watching the grandkids’ sports was so proud of their achievements. He truly was our biggest fan.

Jerry was proud of his Ukrainian and Polish heritage and looked forward to time shared with his beloved brothers and sisters. He was always grateful for their care and the incredible bond they shared.

With many of the handy skills he developed over the years, he loved taking the time to help those in need. Jerry always found joy in the little things in life and appreciated everything and everyone around him.

A big thank you to all of the family, neighbours and friends who have helped Dad so much throughout his health journey, whether it was helping him with his yard, taking him to appointments or simply offering a listening ear and encouragement. He appreciated it very much.

We love you and miss you so much.

Dear Brent, Dineen and families. I was saddened to learn that your dad had passed away and wanted to offer my sincere condolences. Uncle Jerry loved to tease and play with the kids at family gatherings, Jacynthe remembers him as "chicken Jerry" because of feathers that were stuck on his sweater one Christmas eve. Cherish the memories of your parents in hope this may bring you some comfort.

Thinking of you, Laurel

My deepest condolences Brent, Dineen and families. I wish I could have spent more time in Manitoba over the years but when I did visit, I was so glad to spend time with your parents. . Your parents, many years ago, hosted a wedding party for us and it was just great. Jerry was a wonderful, caring person. He would give a hand to anyone who needed it. He is now resting peacefully with his love Louise. You will always be in my thoughts Jerry. Love you.

Jerry, growing up in the North End in the 40s and 50s, you were one of my best friends. You were one of the best natured guys that I ever met. As a young fellow, nobody, absolutely nobody, could skate so swiftly and acrobatically like you;; better than anyone I've ever met! Can't believe that you were never interested in playing hockey as a member of a team. We raided many fruit trees together in the Fall. No crab-apples were safe. Think we were only caught once. You were a 'fun guy' to be with. You had a very wonderful family and a very successful life, Jerry!. So proud that you were my friend. Jerry, you will be in my thoughts forever!

Our sincere heartfelt condolences to the Polson families. It was with great sadness to learn of Jerry's passing. Our paths crossed occasionally over the years. The business in Lockport, weddings, special birthday events, by their pool, (as Jerry and Louise enjoyed their grandchildren), as a handyman, (who helped with several projects). Enjoyed his stories of his own renovation projects, and how he played with his children when they were young and his grandchildren. We got to know Jerry as a person who was caring, pleasant and so full of positive energy!

Our Condolences 💐

Sincere condolences to the Polson family. Our thoughts & prayers are with you.

I met your Dad & Mom in the early seventies. I was going out with Louise's younger sister Gisèle. Your Dad & Mom were looking for motorcycle instructors for the Manitoba Safety Council motorcycle training course. Gisèle introduced my buddy & me to them & we passed the training & taught the courses for 2 summers in a row. We had such a great time & we were invited to their home for get togethers. They were such a great couple. I used to bump into your Dad downtown from time to time & we would have a great chat.

Hard to believe they are both gone so quickly!

Remember all the good times you had with them in this difficult time.

Hugs and prayers Brent, Dineen and families.

It all started with working with your Mom. The friendship I had with your Mom and Dad I will always treasure. When I went back to school I would park my car at their place and your Dad would deliver me to school. No matter how many times I told him I could walk from his office he would driive me to the door.

Our last conversation was shortly after Louise and my husband Don passed. RIP Jerry, you will be mmissed❤️🙏
