LOUISE POLSON

(née PREFONTAINE)

August 28, 1947 - January 23, 2023

Peacefully, with her family by her side, Louise sadly left us.

Left with a huge hole in our hearts are husband Jerry, son Brent and children Logan & Brayden (mom Laurie), daughter Dineen (Michel) and children Austin, Lexie & Liana, and countless family & friends.

Those who knew Mom know she was a fighter, and she fought right up until the end. She wanted nothing more than to live for her grandchildren, but it was time for her to finally rest and be free.

She will be fondly remembered by many for her witty humour and sarcasm, her delicious cooking and her beautiful flowers and park-like yard.

Mom was adamant about not having a service, instead wishing for her family to share a private moment with her. If you wish to honour her, grab her favourite - a Tim Horton’s Iced Capp with cream - and remember all the good times you shared.

From Jerry: I’m glad I spent the most wonderful 56 years with you. Love, Jerry.

We love you and miss you so much, Mom. I know you weren’t ready to go and we sure were not ready to lose you. The only thing getting us through is knowing that you are no longer suffering and at peace.

Oh yeah… “I’m cute!”

Louise’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Dear Jerry, Brent, Dineen and family,   I was very sorry to hear of Louise's passing. She was wonderful person and I always enjoyed visiting with you and Louise when I travelled with my parents or on my own to Manitoba from Toronto. Jerry, you and Louise hosted a lovely post Wedding party for me and I am very grateful for the time and effort to make the day so special. It was great to visit with my family out west. Louise is now out of our sight but not out of our hearts. Sending my love to heaven Louise. I know you will be having a great time with my Dad, Mom, and Ruth.  Be at peace. Jerry,   I miss you my cousin and love you.❤

Dear Jerry & family, Sincere condolences during this difficult time. Our thoughts & prayers are with you & your family. I always remember when you & Louise allowed my buddy Marc & me to become motorcycle instructors for the Manitoba Safety Council after training us. It was also great that Uncle Gus in St. François helped assemble my new Honda 750 motorcycle. Louise & you were always so much fun & taught us a lot. We always had a good time & lots of laughs when we were with you both. Those were some great years. All the best!

Dear Uncle Jerry, Brent  Dineen and families, we are so sorry for your loss.  It was really nice to see Auntie Louise and Uncle Jerry this past July, watching old home movies of the Polson family and reminiscing of times gone by. All the wonderful people that were a part of a family that remains close to this day.  Our thoughts are with you as you grieve your loss. Cherish your memories. ❤ Laurel, David and Jacynthe Yeo

From Cousin Carole: Remembering our younger years....Aunt Augie, Uncle Eugene often visited us at the McCaughan Farm in St. Francois.  Louise and I had fun playing together. When we were about 10 or 11, we got in big trouble. when we  decided to give my young sister, Leona a haircut!!! She wore a head scarf for school on Monday morning!!. We laughed about that for years! Fondly remembering the sleepovers on Hespler, later on Matheson and the excitement of being a bridesmaid at Louise and Jerry's wedding .Always enjoyed visiting with  Jerry and Louise at many family events. Thanks for the great memories. Rest in peace Louise, you certainly have earned it. To Jerry, Brent, Dineen and families, our hearts go out to you on the huge loss of you loved one. Love and prayers, John & Carole Regnier

Aunty Weezy was a beautiful lady and I loved her humour.  Whenever I "moved out of the home" I would walk thru the bush trail to The Polson's.  She always had snacks at the ready and would dunk our feet in the pool. In fact, I think she taught me how to swim!  Thank you for always saving me (hehe).   I did have an ice cap this morning... Cheers to a beautiful strong Aunty.

I have so many great memories of the time I spent with Uncle Jerry and Aunty Louise when I was little. From being their flower girl and sweeping the steps at the church with my bouquet, the many sleep overs at the duplex on Matheson Avenue or the house on Seaforth, riding around in the GTO or on the back of one of their motor cycles, going to Grand Beach and so many other places with them. I’ll always remember Aunty Louise for her hospitality, always welcoming us, and the great food she always prepared for us. She was kind, loved her family immensely, had a great sense of humour and she was the type of person everyone loved being around. She had so much fun at my wedding shower that I had to drive her home because she had too much wine! Lorne and I stayed and had the “hockey puck” burgers that Uncle Jerry cooked for us because Aunty Louise wasn’t in any condition to cook.  I think Heaven is full of laughter right now, as she is reunited with Memere, Pepere and Uncle Alex. I’m sure they’re all joking and teasing each other and entertaining my mom with their jokes. You will always hold a special place in our hearts and we miss you.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you all - I know how difficult of a time it is for you. ❤ Lorne and Debbie

Our thoughts are with all of you during this very difficult time.  Here’s a memory of mine…when we were kids my parents and Uncle Jerry and Auntie Louise shared a duplex.  We lived on the bottom floor and Uncle Jerry and Auntie Louise lived upstairs with their little black poodle named Shiko.  My brother and I loved to chase him around and play with him; and he always put holes in our pyjamas.  Good times and wonderful memories❤Dawn-Marie, Mark, Evana and Alexa Popovich
