Jean Pomo

(née Eshelby)

1935 - 2022

It is with sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces that Jean passed away peacefully at Deer Lodge Personal Care Home on Saturday, March 26th.

Jean leaves to mourn her husband Andrew, her siblings Bob (Donalda), Mary (Terry), Don (Ivy), sister-in-law Ruth and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased in death by her parents Ruth Lightfoot Eshelby and Frances James Eshelby and brother Frank Eshelby.

Jean with her husband Andy dog trained their German Shepherds for search and rescue, tracking and obedience training. They also helped in dog training schools as well. She loved all kinds of animals and often wished she had a horse in her backyard. Jean and Andy loved to travel with their motorhome and had gone to the Grand Ole Opry and Cape Canaveral. They also got to meet Johnny Cash when he was in Winnipeg. They liked boating, fishing, camping and snowmobiling.

The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the staff at the Deer Lodge Personal Care Home. Also a special thank you to her niece Marcia who made sure her Auntie Jean was comfortable, loved with compassion and cared with dignity.

A cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. In the meantime, Jean's family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Flowers are graciously declined, however family and friends who wish to donate may do so to the Alzheimer’s Society or to D’Arcy’s Animal Rescue Centre.
