Matthew, we will be missing you deeply at our Mason clan gatherings. You joined our family 14 years ago and despite the struggles, you always remained a part of the family. Nothing changed that fact. You were a big brother to Hillary's sisters, a buddy to Harry and an uncle to Avery and the little girls. We love you Matt and our hearts are broken. We will never forget you and we will always remind Royal how much you loved him.

Matt, in our hearts and mind you wil always be that smiling, kind kiddo on the bay. No matter when we bumped into you after you moved you always had time for a chat. This will always be

my favourite picture of you guys on the first day at school. Rest easy and be at peace. You will be missed.

My memories of you are many Matthew. From the precious little boy I babysat, to the wonderful and loving father you became. Seeing the many pictures of you and Royal showed so much love. Matthew, your journey in life had its ups and downs but you always showed kindness and love to your family and friends. I will miss you, rest easy and I know you are now at peace. Love you always.

Watching this video of your life has just flooded my mind with so many memories. From that sweet young boy to the man and father in adulthood. There are many people who suffer from trauma in their childhood. How we react to that trauma is different for everyone. I think people who are quite sensitive react much harder to what happened to them. You, Matt, were extremely sensitive. You had so much love in your heart! It was very obvious when anyone saw you with puppies, lizards and snakes. It was most obvious when people saw you with your son, Royal! Such a good, kind and loving father!!! You were also an amazing artist, with incredible natural talent!!! Not I, or anyone else can ever judge you, Matthew, because we did not walk in your shoes or suffer your trauma. I know that you are at peace, Matt. We all miss you and love you. Thank you for all the beautiful memories! With Love........

Such a beautiful video tribute. To all of Matt's family, this is a very tough draw. From the Chapmans, McCormacks, Chapman-Jones, Beldmans and the Findlays from across Canada, may God hold Matt close and help each of you find peace.

Just too soon.

We were at the lake when we heard of Matthew's passing. We'll always remember that smiling young boy with his first fish. Rest in peace young man.

Watching the video of Matthew above reminded me of the days Grandma Joan used to babysit us on Rosewell. We'd watch WWF wrestling and gobble up stacks of delicious pancakes for breakfast. I also had a chuckle remembering the day we asked him to say "fire truck" lol! Rest in peace, Matthew.

Matthew,

we will always think of you as that little neighbour boy running around with the kids. (Playing street hockey and enjoying time with the other kids.) Not to forget the ever present kindness and polite greetings whenever we crossed paths. Always in our hearts. 🥰
