TIM PORTH

December 21, 1962 - August 3, 2023

It is with great sadness we announce Tim’s unexpected passing on August 3, 2023, at the age of 60.

Tim spent his teens working and traveling with Conklin shows. The carnival was something he would return to on and off throughout his life. He was also a glass installer, gasfitter and later owned his own asphalt paving company.

He enjoyed fishing, (though most of his time was spent baiting or untangling everyone's lines) camping, hiking, or picnicking with the kids. He loved road trips on the Harley, in the camper, Boogie bus or one of the classic cars he owned. Coffee, tunes, sun, and the wind, he made sure that every trip was an adventure.

Music was a large part of his life, at home the stereo pumped out continuous classic rock. He even traveled with a case of alphabetized cassettes or CD’s and if there was no stereo system in the vehicle he was traveling in, there was always his giant boombox.

Tim always had stories to tell, some of them so well, that his listeners were unable to discern fact from fiction. Although many of his stories were anchored in some truth, many were for his entertainment. Tim lived large and enjoyed life to its fullest.

Left to mourn are the mothers of his children Shelley and Lori. His children Brandon (Amanda), Kristen (Marc), Raechal, Spyder, Kaitlyn and Dallas; grandchildren Molly, Leia, Gage, Bradley, Rori, Kenzi, Arya, and Greyson. His siblings Beverly, Terry, Barry (Maureen), Marilyn (Brian) and Les. As well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Gladys Thomas and Bill Porth. His brothers Lyle, Dean and Harley and brothers from other mothers, David Ginther and Dave Steele.

A celebration of Tim’s life will be held from 1:00 – 3:30 PM, October 7th, 2023, at the East Elmwood Community Club, 490 Keenleyside Street.
