DOROTHY “DOTS” EVELYN POSTOLUK
August 7, 1947 – November 20, 2024
Dorothy Evelyn Postoluk, affectionately known as "Dots", passed away on November 20, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 7, 1947, in Grenfell, Saskatchewan, Dorothy leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and community spirit.
Dorothy is survived by her beloved husband George; her daughter Tracy (Jason); and her son Troy; as well as siblings, Gladys (Joe) Gandzalas, Tom (Cathy) Prima, Robert Prima, and Raymond (Kathleen) Prima.
Dorothy met George, the love of her life, while working at Central Mortgage and Housing in Regina. The two shared a beautiful marriage that began on a cold and rainy day in October 1967.
Dorothy dedicated countless hours over decades to volunteering at Harold Hatcher Elementary and the Transcona Food Bank. Dorothy’s talents and passions were many - she was an avid reader, a skilled gardener, and a brilliant cook. She also supported George's trucking career by meticulously overseeing the company books and ensuring he always had hearty meals for his long trips. She joined George many times on the road and enjoyed seeing the Canadian countryside with Chico, the family's beloved dog, sitting on her lap.
Dorothy’s warmth, kindness, and endless generosity touched the lives of everyone around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A service to honour Dorothy’s life will be held at 11:00am on December 14, 2024, at the Transcona Memorial United Church located at 209 Yale Ave. West. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba or the Transcona Memorial United Church.
Dorothy’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Thank you so very much for welcoming me to the family from the first day we met on your birthday in 2002. You were my second Mom and I will always cherish our time together. Even though you enjoyed busting my chops! Rest in peace Dorothy.

Sisters, the bases of most families, Dorothy was one of those. So as we get older & move across the country, we don't get to visit family as we like. But during my 12 years in the north I spent some of my holiday time in Winnipeg. Dorothy was always there to provide airport pick-up', a place to lay my head & super fabulous meals. She provided me with a taxi service on my many shopping spree's & errands. Can't forget our yearly visits to Tony Romas enjoying their ribs & visits with Dorothy & Geroge. Thank you for making my holidays more relaxing & enjoyable. Your memory will always be with me, you are dearly missed. God Bless & rest in peace.

Another rose has bloomed in heaven. Gone too soon but forever cherished and loved. The sister bond we shared was strong despite the miles between us. Always looked forward to our weekly phone calls sharing stories, laughter and sometimes tears and now all I have is memories. God has you in His arms, I have you in my heart.
Rest in peace, dear sister!

Very happy memories of sitting at the kitchen table and being served amazing food while enjoying great conversation and sharing experiences. What a lovely human being we were given in Dorothy. Our sympathy goes out to the family. Your legacy is etched in us forever.
