THERESE PREVOST

June 6, 1931 – October 16, 2024

Peacefully with her family at her side, Therese Prevost (née Brisebois) passed away on October 16, 2024. She is reunited with her late-husband Andre and their daughter Suzan.

She will be greatly missed by her son Andre, and her daughters Patricia (Ed), Janine, Giselle (Dave), and Monique (Tim). And by her grandchildren Stephen, Therese, Terrance, Samantha, Cookie, Luc and Rachelle and her great-grandchildren George, Wesley, Theo, Lydia and Adam.

Therese was the heart of our home and family. She was a devoted loving wife, Mum, Memere and Grand-Memere. Family came first and foremost in her life. Our family was blessed with her unconditional love and support. She and Dad were happily married for 60 years and built a wonderful life together.

Therese was Postmaster’s Assistant from 1949 to 1973. She became Postmaster in 1974 and continued until 1985 when she and Andre retired. She was an active volunteer in the community, at the church, where she was also the organist, at the Caisse Populaire and at sports and social clubs. She was an avid bowler, setting records and even occasionally bowling perfect games. All while maintaining a beautiful home, extensive flower and vegetable gardens. She was very creative and loved knitting and quilting. She created many beautiful quilts. She loved nature. In her own words she “loved the outdoors, birds, animals, beautiful skies, the moon and stars and gleaming snow”.

She was the most loving and devoted Memere and Grand-Memere. She was a constant support and guiding force in her grandchildren’s lives. She could be counted on for love, encouragement and the most amazing pancakes! As small children they enjoyed doing things with her like picking and eating goodies from her vegetable garden.

She was one of the most beautiful people, inside and out. If you knew Therese, you loved her. She was that special.

Her legacy and memory will live on in our hearts. Her presence in our lives has been a blessing and her absence will be dearly felt.

Her family wishes to thank the staff of CD2 at Riverview Health Centre for their genuine kindness and the exceptional care extended to her. They went above and beyond to care for Mum with love.

In accordance with her wishes, a private family service was held with the assistance of Ethical Death Care.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Therese’s memory can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Therese’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.
