THOMAS “TOMMY” PUSIEWICH

1956 – 2025

With family and friends by his side Tommy passed away on Tuesday, January 14th after a brief battle with cancer.

Left to cherish his memories are his brother Jim and his “partner in crime” Coreen; along with his cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Tommy was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Josie Pusiewich; brother Bill Pusiewich; and niece Jennie Pusiewich.

Tommy was born in Winnipeg in 1956 and enjoyed his life while living on his parent’s farm in Stead MB, eventually moving to Beausejour, Lac du Bonnet, and finally St Andrew’s, making friends for life all along the way.

Tommy was a kind innocent soul with an incredible memory for details. He enjoyed all who spent time with him. He was passionate about his Honda 4-wheeler, his pets, sports, listening to the Portage la Prairie garage sale, music, winning most Checkers games, and any family gathering.

His favourite restaurant was The Half Moon and that worked well with one of his favourite foods: a double foot-long hotdog!

A Celebration of Tommy’s life will be held from 11:30am – 3:00pm on Tuesday, February 11th at the RC Legion Hall, Branch 215 located at 215 Maxwell King Dr, East St Paul.

We want to send special thanks to all the care given by Dr Joseph Partyka and the full medical staff at the Selkirk Hospital.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your charity of choice.

Tommy’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

My deepest condolences to Jim, Coreen and Tommy's extended family. Tommy was a beautiful soul. I met Tommy when he was a teenager and watched him build cofidence and grow into the social butterfly that captured the hearts of everyone he met. He loved company and spending time with family. I could never beat him at a game of checkers and only beat him at hola once or twice. Tommy was truly a gift who spread joy wherever he went. Tommy will be missed by everyone he touched in this world but, I find comfort in knowing that he went to heaven on golden wings and is reunited with his Mom, Dad, brother Bill and niece Jennie. Give them all a hug for me Tommy. Keep the checker board and cards handy, until we meet again. Love Dianne

We had many good times together from the poker derbys we were in, your curling team manager skills and the great ice fishing expeditions on the Winnipeg River. We will miss your smiles and laughter Tomcat.

Dear sweet Tommy made all my treasured time with cousins in Cooks Creek even better! I was so very fortunate to have lots of time out there on Aunty Gladys and Uncle Ted's farm. Susie and I not only cousins but also dear friends. meant in the summer I often was out there for weeks at a time- sleepover heaven. On those occasions and also special holiday gatherings when Tommy was also there the fun factor was doubled.

Where Tommy was JOY followed closely behind. It was something you could count on he knew exactly what was MOST important in life. Deepest Sympathies to all of Aunty Josie and Uncle Joe's family and friends.

So very thankful for a lifetime of amazing memories shared with one of the greatest human beings on the planet. Where to even begin.... Somehow Tommy always made it fun to be on the losing end of a checkers match, or a fith consecutive defeat in a game of hola. As long as you were having fun, he was having more fun. That happy energy applied to everyting he did, and every person in the room was a beneficiary of that magic. Poker derbies, trike rides, cutting cord wood, stacking sod...everthing was the same level of fun when Tommy was part of it. Bingo nights, Saturday afternoon wrestling, and driving out to the field to deliver lunch to my Grandfather - I have an endless supply of smiles. I'm sure Kelly is curled up at your feet, and Luke is trying to show you the biggest tree branch he could find. You have a "Pusiewich Sod Farms" hat on, and a grin from ear to ear. Love you Uncle Tom.

We are so saddened by Tommy's passing but know he's in a better place with no more pain. Our family felt like we knew him well yet we never met him in person. We loved hearing the latest funny 'Tommy' stories told so lovingly by Jim and Coreen over the years. We'll miss his sweet personal video messages.

Bless his sweet soul -

Sincere condolences to Jim, Coreen and the entire Pusiewich Family. I'm sure you are celebrating an amazing life and feeling a great loss at the same time. Tom was a very special friend to many, many people and probably had no idea of the light he brought to each life he touched. Thank you, Coreen, for being the messenger on so many days by passing messages along to Tom, and faithfully sending back his cheery replies. I know the videos of Tom were shared around frequently, and he was a great influencer to many.

Blessings to the Pusiewich Family as you comfort each other and walk this road ahead. You have all given Tom a wonderful life and he definitely lived it to the fullest. May your hearts be full of joy and cheerful memories along with the stories.

Very saddened to know Tommy will no longer be policing our busy road. It was always great to have him wave on the way by or stop for a chat.

He would never hesitate to pre-invite us over or give me hard time for not washing my Atv while his remained pristine.

It was an unfortunate short term friendship that felt much longer and one could only wish it had.

Enjoy that dirt road ride in the sky Tommy, you will be missed.
