REBECCA NICOLE RANSON

December 15, 1976 – July 4, 2023

It is with deep sorrow we must announce the passing of our loved one, Rebecca Nicole Ranson. Becky was surrounded by her loving children, family and closest friends when she took her last breath on July 4, 2023.

Becky is survived by her children Grace and James Baker, partner Adam Holmes, mother Sheila Trosky (Garry), father Rick Ranson (Marly), sisters Tara Tetrault (Justin), Jessica Brandstrom (Josh) and Dayna Trosky (James). Also left to mourn are nieces Emily, Katie and Aleena; and nephew Taylor. Countless extended family, in-laws and chosen family are grieving. A special thank you to Colleen Clapham, Laura Rand, Matt Linklater and Nadine Clement for your support.

Becky was born December 15, 1976 and adopted by Rick and Sheila. She grew up in Transcona, Winnipeg attending French Immersion. Becky was very involved in her community with Girl Guides. She went on to the University of Manitoba to further her education. Supported by her mom and dad, Becky registered with Children's Aid Society at age 20 and reunited with her birth mother, sister and brother.

Being Grace and James' mom was the joy of Becky's life. Her pride in her children was palpable, her love unwavering. Supporting her kids' talents in dance and theatre was a high point in Becky's life, she dance mommed like no other!

Becky’s gift of gab from the time she could talk, is unmatched. Her laugh would spark joy for all who heard and the caliber of friends she acquired in her short life is a testament to who she was as a person. We will always love you, Becky.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on July 26, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 4, 1755 Portage Ave. A special thank you to the staff at I.H. Asper Institute ICCU for your care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Kidney Foundation of Canada or Harvest Manitoba.

I met Becky 27 years ago, we worked at the same place at the time.  Just looked her up a few days ago online to see how she was doing and even though I didn't know her that well I am in shock and feel so bad that she has passed  I hope her family is doing well   I am 48 and to learn of her not being here passing so young really makes me sad. Rest in peace Becky

Sending my love to Grace and James and so sorry I can't be there. Becky was always so full of spirit and love. I remember her big smile and laughter on one trip at Augustine as she watched Gracie and James sledding. Love and laughter spread from her to all of us. I'll miss her a lot.

Oh Becky! I just saw you on the bus on July 1, 2022 River at Osborne on my way to a rally. With her children. I wish Becky a safe and gentle journey in the spirit world and may the Great Spirit guide her always. I'm deeply affected by her making her journey so soon.

My deepest condolences to all of Becky's family. I met Becky, Grace and James through church a number of years ago, and remember Becky as a warm, welcoming person and devoted mother. I'm incredibly saddened to hear of this loss, but pray she is in The Creator's loving embrace.

I always enjoyed talking to Becky at gatherings. I had social anxiety when I was younger and she always put me at ease. She was so genuine and funny and caring. The world is less without her here physically. She did leave a positive imprint on all who met her, so in a way, she lives on in memory and actions of those she left behind as well as in spirit.

Dear Sheila, Rick & the entire family. Corey & I are just devastated by this sad news. It is never easy to lose a loved one, but doubly difficult to lose one so young. Becky is free from pain and at rest at last. Still, the pain endures. Go with God, Becky. You are in our hearts.
