PATRICIA RATTE
April 25, 1955 - April 19, 2025
It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of Patricia Ratte, Loving Wife and Mother.
Born in Dauphin MB, she was predeceased by her parents, Marion and Bill; and her sister Natalie. She is survived her husband Cliff; children, David (Lindsay) and Ryan (Cheryl).
Pat passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Vista Park Lodge.
In 1955 the Gawazuk family moved to Winnipeg, where they lived in Fort Rouge until 1966. They moved to St. Vital where she graduated from Dakota Collegiate.
After attending the University of Manitoba, Patricia married the love of her life Cliff in 1975. Starting a family and being a Mom was her greatest joy in life.
She worked in the family business, Hindley Food Market. She then went on the be the Caretaker of 459 St. Anne’s Road, Lady Sarah apartments. During her 30 years as building Manager she spent many summer nights sitting on the front steps. This is where tenants slowly became honorary family members, and to this day have been lifelong friends.
Patrica had other odd jobs at Alpha 4 Video and Sud City Laundry Mat to name a few. Patty Ratte never missed the opportunity to have a good time. Pat also volunteered at the Church with bake sales, teas, and teaching Sunday School.
She always loved heading down to Grand Forks with Barb and Natalie to do some shopping, filling the cars from floor to ceiling and even filling the glovebox. She loved to cook and bake for any reason. It will be impossible to forget the monthly wrestling pay per views at the house, full of good food and better friends. Pat loved her sports, whether it was the Blue Bombers, Jets or, her real love, the Blue Jays.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00PM on Friday, May 16, 2025 at the Norberry Community Centre located at 26 Molgat Ave.
The family thanks the staff at Vista Park Lodge for their compassion, care and support. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Vista Park Lodge Personal Care Home.
Patricia’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.
