Shelley Raven

SHELLEY PATRICIA RAVEN
(KOPESCHNY)
September 18, 1961 - December 12, 2025
With a lot of love and sadness, our family announces the passing of Shelley Raven (née Lawson) at the age of 64 years. Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Krystal and Kerilee (Dan); her father Alex; her devoted sister Karen (Len); nephew Matthew (Jennifer); relatives, and friends. Shelley was predeceased by her dear husband Ron; and her mother Patricia.
Shelley will be remembered as a funny, warm, charming, resilient, force of energy. She enjoyed reading, writing, music, exercising, cooking, camping, and spending time near any lake or beach.
Shelley felt most at peace when she spent time in nature and some of her favourite memories included spending the summers of her youth at her grandparents’ fishing camp, nightly walks with her daughters in Assiniboine Park, and her years spent living on the shore in Sandy Hook. Another lifelong passion of Shelley’s was her relationship with the loyal dogs who accompanied her throughout her life. Shelley would be happy to know that her dog Flower, now with Krystal in the countryside, enjoys lots of love and cuddles, fresh air, and a big yard.
Shelley’s faith was very important to her and she was actively involved with several churches throughout her life.
In keeping with Shelley’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Shelley’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories using the comment section on this page.

remember in August 2017 when my husband and I were looking at the house at number 18 Prairie Crocus Drive and Shelley was in her backyard and she called over to us to buy the house. and we did move in the following May 1 of 2018. We got very close with Shelley and Ron when they had the passing of their dog Molly and I remember them showing me pictures and sharing memories with me then in 2019 summer Canada Day, we got together with the neighbours in front of my house and shared the festivities together. we had a lot of good times and both Shelley and Ron will be truly missed.

I went through elementary and then high school with Shelley. She was a fellow Brooklands girl who was a friend and teammate on intramural sports. I lost touch with her many years ago, but remember her fondly. My condolences to her close friends and family.

I am sorry to hear of Shelley's passing. She was a vibrant lady who loved her daughters, family and pets. We very much enjoyed the time we spent with you at Kerilee and Dan's Wedding out in Whistler. May she gently rest in peace.

Shelley was a great friend thru elementary and junior high. We played on volleyball teams together and I spent many hours visiting her home on William avenue. My deepest condolences to her family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Shelley and I spent a lot of time together in junior and senior high, under the watchful eye of big sister Karen. She was a very good friend to me and I cherish the memories of our fun times together.

Krystal and Kerilee my heart breaks for you. Your mom was a special lady who you have described to a 'T'. She was so proud of her 'girls'. May your memories comfort you in the times ahead. Love you always Aunty karen
