IRENE ANNA REDEKOPP

August 11, 1935 - May 6, 2023

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce Irene Anna Redekopp passed away and went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on May 6th, 2023 at the age of 87 years.

Irene was born to Henry and Helen Epp on August 11th, 1935.  Irene grew up on a farm near Hanley Saskatchewan, the first of four children.  Irene found faith in Christ at an early age and she lived out her faith throughout her lifetime.

Irene was an incredibly positive person with an excitement for life.  Irene’s positivity and excitement was contagious to all she came in contact with.  Irene was a school teacher by profession and her life made a difference in many students’ lives throughout her career.    Later in life, Irene became a Home Care Worker where she continued to care for and love people.  Irene loved vacations, reading, laughing, having coffee with others, and social and family gatherings.

Irene is predeceased by her beloved husband of 44 years, Clarence Redekopp.  Irene loved her children Tony (Terrie) Redekopp, Russell (Lyn) Redekopp, and granddaughters Kate-lyn Redekopp and Zoey Redekopp.  Irene is predeceased by her father, Henry Epp, her mother Helen Epp, and her brother Henry Epp.  Irene is survived by her sisters Helen (Ted) Horton, Herta Epp, and sister-in-law Lois Epp.

We would like to extend a warm thank you to the Donwood Manor Personal Care Home for their special care for Mom during the last few years of her life as she battled dementia.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has already taken place.  A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00pm (Noon) on Saturday May 20th, 2023 at the Springs Church Chapel, 595 Lagimodiere Blvd, Winnipeg MB.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of donations to Springs Church (595 Lagimodiere Blvd Winnipeg MB R2J 3X2).

Irene’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Very sorry to hear about Irene. I spent quite some time with her when I worked for Ramona and she often took me to church. She was a very kind lady.❤

For years Irene and I had lovely wide ranging conversations while going to bed later than everyone else. Irene enjoyed learning and I received the benefits of the seminars and events that she attended!
