We have been so busy with our own kids these last years..,but when we visited Jim at the Grace Hospital earlier in June we teased him about how he could both get us lost on our snowmobiles and also figure out how to get us back to the cabin all in the same trip. We would like to offer our sincerest condolences for the loss of your husband , a father & grandfather. His presence at Malachi was huge. His humour , friendship & shenanigans will be missed. Would love to see you if you & the kids make it to the lake.

I remember Jimmy when he came to the cottage with the ladies morning tea party and sat quietly because.there was no baby sitter. I felt sorry for him and little realized how valuable he would be to me and my family.

He later entertained my children, and when I could no longer come on my own, picked up on the barge and took me everywhere. He helped my family build their cottage improvements and establish a regular means of journeying back and forth. He kept regular visits with me no matter where I was and we went out many times..Jim was a generous man making sure to keep contact frequently

We shall all miss the

times he spent with us making life beautiful.

When I was building my house on an acreage about 7 miles south of Saskatoon, Jim helped me get an electrical permit and he did the roughed-in electrical for the house. He loved to argue politics and I suspect that he would choose an opposite side to my view just to have a lively discussion. He often used the word "copasetic" when asked how he was doing, and not being familiar with the word, I looked it up in my dictionary. It said, "Slang for 'okay'"! I hope, Jim, you will continue to be copasetic.

I got to know Jim when he, Patrick and I (along with his strong assistants) built our new crib dock 5-6 years ago. True to form, Jim put me to work and I learned so much under his 'teaching style' leadership. Next was an invite for morning coffee which is where I really got to know Jim over the next several years. Many a morning was spent on his front porch. The conversations were never dull. Jim was and has always been generous (sometimes too generous), warm hearted, full of stories sprinkled with a touch of that Jim humour! No doubt I happened to catch Jim in his dressing gown...or far less now and again. I will never forget those legs!! Jim introduced me to so many folks at morning coffee that marked my arrival as a true Malachite. Jim, you are my dear friend who will forever be a part of me. Rest in peace.

Such a great neighbour and member of our community in Birchwood Heights! We will miss Jim so much. Our hearts and prayers are with you Annette, and with your relatives and the Reid Family.

We forgot to put date and time. The celebration of life will be June 11, 2026 from 1 to 4 pm at Westdale Community Ctr.

Probably the second best crib player in the world! I'll miss him.
