RAYMOND VINCENT REILLY
November 12, 1940 – October 9, 2026
It is with much love and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, family member and friend, Raymond Vincent Reilly (Vince) who passed away Friday Oct 9, 2026. We will always be grateful for the memories he leaves behind.
Vince is survived by his devoted wife, Louise, of 62 years, and their children Michael(Colleen), Patricia (Michael), Carla (Peter) and his wonderful grandchildren Kaitlin, Matthew, Rylee, Mitchell, Sydney, and Tanner. He is survived by his brother, Norman, and is predeceased by his parents, Ray/Marguerite, and brother, Terrance.
Vince was born in Moose Jaw, SK on November 12, 1940. His family lived in several small towns, but Rosetown was considered his hometown. Vince and Louise grew up together in Rosetown and were married in 1964. He was manager of several Credit Unions, and in 1969, he began his career in the Life Insurance Industry. They moved to Winnipeg in 1978. Vince was the Marketing Director for Western Canada for Industrial Alliance when he retired. He was known for his dedication to his clients and those he worked with and trained.
Vince was an active and faithful member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 54 years and to the end he and Louise would recite the Serenity Prayer; it was his mantra. They owe their family bond and many lifelong friendships to this program.
The Lake of the Woods cabin was his “go to” with family and friends. He was never afraid to work hard and take on projects. As a family and with friends, the work was done with pride. This special place is where our family grew older, and most importantly, raised all 6 grandchildren. Vince often greeted the kids and grandkids with “Hey team,” a perfect term of how we view this magical place.
Vince was an active member of Mary Mother of the Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and also was chairperson of the development and construction of South Park Estates in 1997. Vince and Louise spent 15 winter years in Mesa AZ, making many new and valued friendships. Vince enjoyed his billiards, bocce and retirement.
Vince loved being a swimming instructor as a teenager, fast and flashy cars, fishing, hunting, billiards, restoring tractors and playing cards, but most of all-Christmas with family. His words of advice were “Always remember the importance of family--no matter what the deal or situation is!”
Vince, Dad, Grandpa - we will miss your quiet guidance, your quiet smile and cherish your unconditional love. Thank you “for being you.”
The world has lost a very good man--God grant us Serenity, Courage and Wisdom.
Our sincere gratitude to the staff at the Maples Care Home for their love and care towards both Vince and our family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society.
Mass celebration on Wed. Oct. 21st, at 11 am, at Mary Mother of the Church Parish, Wpg.

My condolences to all concerned. I remember Vince driving us tubing behind the boat that looked like a car driving on the water. A very cool, unique boat. Once we almost hit the island just east of his cabin. Wild, fun times. Although I won't be able to attend the mass celebration my thoughts will be with you. All the best.

What truly lovely memories and wonderful photographs collected over the years. Vince was always extremely giving of his time and experience and I know I learned lots from working with him over the years. "How you doing young fella" was the words I heard at the start of every phone call. It was that personal touch that always felt familar and genuine that I will remember most. To all the family, Pat, Carla and Michael, I offer my since condolences at this sad time and hold you all in our thoughts. Louise may you find comfiort in the memories and know that your love and care in Vince's final months is a testament to you and all that 60+ years of marriage brings.
I will miss Vince dearly.

I feel fortunate to have known Vince. Whenever you were in his presence, you couldn’t help but see the dignity, tact, and kindness he carried with him. He had a quiet wisdom about him and was, in every sense, a true gentleman. He will be deeply missed.
