JOHANNA REMKES

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Johanna Remkes on April 15, 2023 at the age of 91.

Johanna will be lovingly missed by her husband of 69 years Alexander. She will be sadly missed by her children Linda (Wil), Shirley (Jeff), Alexander (Nicole) and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Johanna married the love of her life on September 9, 1953 in Utrecht, Netherlands. Together they immigrated from the Netherlands to Canada and arrived in Winnipeg Manitoba on October 31,1953. They moved to Anola Manitoba in 1976 where they resided for the last 47 years. Johanna liked to do puzzles of all kinds and enjoyed many crafts such as sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was especially gifted with petit point and made many beautiful works of art.

At the family’s requests, there will be no funeral with a private celebration of life.
