PERRY RAYMOND RINDAHL

December 23, 1950 – July 29, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband/father Perry Raymond Rindahl who passed away suddenly on July 29th, 2021.

Perry leaves behind Lesley, his wife of 38 years, his children Christopher (Tanis) and Kelsey. Brothers Roy and Daryl, sisters Carla (Dave), Lisa (Bill), Kerry-Lynn and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother and father, Theresa and Stan, Grandparents, Florence and Joseph, sister Marlene and brother Stephen.

Born in Sudbury, Ontario, Perry’s family moved back to Winnipeg when he was a young child. He attended Gordon Bell High School.

Perry loved nothing more than a day of fishing with his children when they were young.  These outings inevitably ended quickly with the fish remaining safely in the river/lake and with an ice cream supper for the kids. He finally received his Master Angler’s Certificate on November 8, 2018 when he reeled in a Channel Catfish measuring 34½ inches (thanks Louise and Nelson).

Our family was lucky enough to vacation in Mexico in 2010 and again in 2015 which Perry loved and would have made his permanent home if he ever won the lottery.

Perry worked in the Autobody trade for most his adult life, both in Winnipeg and BC, and made many dear friends including Brian, Dave, Tom, Cory and many others who have stayed in contact with him over the years

He had very fond cherished childhood memories of the summers spent at the Hutterite colony where he made lifelong friends and memories.

Perry’s wish was to be cremated and no service will be held at this time.  Instead, Perry’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Care or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

What a beautiful video, I just cried my eyes out :( I'm so sorry Leslie, sending my deepest condolences to you, Chris and Kelsey. I have so many fond memories of uncle Perry growing up it'd be hard to choose just one to embrace. If anything, I remember how good his home made pizza was, or anything he cooked :) and his kindness and sense of humour went a long way with me. He will be missed dearly. Love and miss you all 💕

We were proud to take Perry that day on the Red River. We will never forget how Perry never quit smiling that day and was blown away with his Master catfish Certificate paper. Nelson and Louise

We were sorry to hear of Perry's passing.  We looked forward to his regular phone calls to chat about life and share a few laughs.  After each call, he ended with "George, I love you!"  Always made me feel good!  It's shocking how quickly life can end.  A good reminder to enjoy each day.  Perry loved his kids and always spoke so fondly of them.  Here's to the memories!!

Greetings from the entire Hofer family, all 9 of us! When Perry was a young lad, every summer from about age 12 to 16 years, he would migrate from the city and spend the summer with our family at the Deerboine Hutterite Colony. This tradition also included his siblings Roy, Marlene and Daryl. In spite of the obvious cross-cultural experiences involved in this, Perry seemed to fit into our family seamlessly every summer. This included getting into trouble with our brothers when they raided the watermelon patch, helping to look after a few thousand goslings and, yes, the city boy did learn to drive a tractor and helped with haying. He also became a part of a rural group of young people who were culturally very different from his city life. These visits stopped around his senior high years. There were occasional letters but our paths diverged for about 15 years. During this time, most of us moved to the city but didn't connect because we had lost contact. We all regretted this. We connected again about 12 years ago and it was a joyous reunion for all of us, however, he deeply regretted having missed the last years of our mom's life. But, for the rest of us, it was special to pick up where we left off and share memories, coffee, cinnamon buns and compare life stories. The best times were when brother Joe and his wife Esther were down from Edmonton. What stands out from these conversations was how proud he was of his family and how much he loved you all. We will always treasure having brother Perry as part of our life. Love the Hofer Family (Annie, Tom, Lena, Rachel, Tabitha, Joe, James, Edna and Rhoda.

Kelly and I have many fond and funny memories of Perry we will miss his calls of him asking if we missed him yet. a couple of momories that really stick out are the talks of how he won the Belgium Bowling at the neighbors(Beckers) and how he celebrated by doing the full monty that night. Another was the incident of the BBq weiners he did and neglected to tell everyone he droped a few behind the door and put them back on the plate I guess he took the 30 sec ruled to heart LOL.  condolences to to you sis and Christopher (Tanis) and Kelsey we are always here for you anytime you need us.  Love Donna and Kelly❤

Sad to hear of Perry's passing, but he is on another adventure.  I've known this gentleman since he was 12..we went to school together..ventured out into what we thought was *adulthood* together, laughs...I've tried to find him over the years on facebook..but it wasn't meant to be.  To his family, friends, I say, you were blessed to have him in your life...he was a wonderful young man, can only assume, he became a wonderful *older* man...Rest In Peace, my friend, till we meet again.......Maureen xoxo ❤

It`s very difficult to say goodbye to someone you have known for over 50 years, someone you have remained in touch with all that time and who suddenly dies tragically. Perry was the brother of my best friend and came from a large and close family that welcomed me into their home. He was always wanting to talk and ask about your experiences and the conversation always ended up about his kids...how he loved Chris and Kelsey. Perry always wanted to help or offer advice about anything automotive and sometimes just trying to find some answers for the problems of life..like everyone else. He had a soft heart and a good ear and ignored his own pain and discomfort from serious operations he had to visit me in the hospital a few years back when I had a hip replaced....he was that caring. He was a good friend and will be missed. My condolences to his wife Lesley, and children; Christopher and Kelsey and his brothers Roy, Darryl, sisters Carla, Kerry-lynn, and Lisa and their families. May the Good Lord grant you rest. Goodbye I`m going to miss you. Bill and Darlene Turner

Perry's stories were legendary around CARSTAR. He was respected as a Father figure, a skilled technician and thoughtful friend to all. We've missed Perry since his retirement and would like to express our heartfelt sorrow at his passing. Perry and the entire Rindahl family were ardent supporters of CARSTAR.  Thank you Perry, for the years of service at your "last post". Rest In Peace
