MIRIAM MARGARET RODGER

(née Stewart)

July 29, 1953 – May 18, 2026

Peacefully, surrounded by family, Miriam Margaret Rodger passed away on May 18, 2026, at the age of 72.

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Miriam’s heart was always at home in Ste. Anne, Manitoba, where she built a life centered around family, friendship, and community.

Miriam will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 54 years, Bill Rodger, affectionately known by family and the community as “Meemaw & Peepaw.”

She leaves behind her children Christie (Lonnie), Bill (Nancy), and Bob (Jamie); her cherished grandchildren Caleigh, Ashley, Jordan, Michael, and Calvin; as well as eight great-grandchildren, with one more joyfully on the way.

She is also survived by her siblings Peter (Edie) and Rae (Paul).

Miriam was predeceased by her parents, James and Greta “Bumps” Stewart, as well as her brothers George (Marilyn) and Bob (Sheila).

Miriam dedicated much of her working life to others, spending 30 years with BMO and 19 years with Symcor. Outside of work, she found happiness in baseball with the Ste. Anne Goodtimers, gardening, golf, and spending time with animals and children. Above all, she treasured the moments spent with Peepaw and her family.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Ste. Anne Hospital, Bethesda Regional Health Centre, and the caring staff on the 3rd floor at Rest Haven Care Home for their compassion and support.

Sincere condolences to all the family. We had great times playing baseball and ringuette. I also attended RRC with Miriam for numerous years. She was such a giving and fun person.

Condolences to the family. Meemaw was such a talented athlete, always had a positive attitude, while smiling and laughing. She was well respected in the baseball community and was a true friend to all. We will miss you, may you watch over us. Hugs.
