MARLENE ROMANCHUK

(née Jones)

May 24, 1953 - December 17, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Marlene Romanchuk announces her sudden passing at home on December 17, 2021, at the age of 68.

Marlene was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bryan Romanchuk; her parents; and sister Loretta. She leaves behind siblings, Wayne, Tony (Glenda), Lorraine, and Lisa; along with several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.

Marlene was a tiny dynamo in life. A retired nurse, she was very proud of the years she spent in healthcare. She was an avid animal lover, especially of Rottweilers, and doted on her much-adored pets. She and her husband Bryan enjoyed nature and spent many happy times in the Kenora area. She was also an excellent baker, and always had a tasty treat and sympathetic ear to offer guests.

An interment will take place at Thomson In The Park Cemetery; due to current restrictions, a memorial will be held at a later date. In the meantime, Marlene’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

I am very sorry to hear of Marlene's passing. Marlene showed so much kindness to my mother, Lillian and myself over the years. Marlene and Bryan gave us matching angel pendants just before they got married which I still wear and cherish. The Angel's Marlene made hang on my Christmas tree. Marlene also knitted me an afghan throw. She was talented and her gentle nature will be missed. My sincere condolences to the family.  Lisa Ito

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Marlene, I've known the family for many many year's. I've always looked up to Marlene. She was such a kind person. She was my Computer Buddy ever since I got my P/C. Now when I open up my g-mail, She is no longer there. She will be missed by so many people. The Lord took a TRUE ANGEL from us. RIP Marlene❤😳..

My aunt always tackled the toughest situations life  threw at the family. She said she had a stiff upper lip. She was tiny in size but was giant slayer. She was tough but equally caring and concerned about everyone in the family. She would jump into action without hesitation for anyone in need. She always had the best shortbread cookies. She will be missed dearly.
