LILLIAN PATRICIA (PAT) ROSS

September 29, 1938 - November 20, 2022

It is with great love and much sadness that we said goodbye to our beloved mother, Pat Ross, aged 84 years of Winnipeg, MB on November 20, 2022.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Karen (Len) Terlinski and Shelley Raven. Mom was blessed with three grandchildren, Krystal, Kerilee (Dan), and Matthew (Jennifer). She had especially fond memories of lifelong friends Betty (Barry) Meakins and Brenda Buccholz. We have peace in knowing that she knew how deeply she was loved.

Some of Mom’s favorite pastimes were reading, sewing, quilting, baking, cooking, spending time at Sunnyside Bay, and most importantly, being around her family. Nanny, as she was known to her grandchildren, could be counted on for sleepovers, Easter egg hunts, making and assembling gingerbread houses, camping, and delicious meals that always came with leftover take-home treats.

Mom had been a proud member of the International Order of Jobs Daughters, Mizpah Chapter of OES, Samara Toastmistress Club, Taoist Tai Chi Society, and a long-time member of Transcona Memorial United Church where she served on the official board and on various committees.

Mom is now reunited with her parents, Bill and Gladys; sister Peg; brother Barry; and son-in-law Ron.

We will remember Mom as a feisty lady who raised two strong and loving daughters.

In keeping with Mom’s wishes cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.

The family is grateful to the staff for the excellent care Mom received at River Ridge Retirement Residence. Your care and compassion were very comforting for Mom.

Mom you will always be in our hearts. Peace be with you. MIZPAH.

Pat's family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

What a beautiful photo of my dearest and oldest friend - we met when we were 5 years old so had the privilege of knowing all the Wilwand clan - I miss her so but have wonderful memories to draw on...she loved Karen/Shelly so much and was very proud of both.

I have many memories of Aunty Pat. When we ran through her yard at Sunnyside yelling and playing she would often come out and scold us for being so noisy. We often did it on purpose when she was there just to annoy her🙂. I remember going to her house in Winnipeg and feeling like I was in a very fancy place. We had to behave there, act like civilized children. There were 5 of us so that seemed impossible but somehow I think we always pulled it off. My fondest memory is from when my son was sick at HSC. He was 5. I was at his side 24 hours a day. Aunty Pat would come up to his room and tell me that she would stay with him while I had a small break. I was so grateful for that small act of kindness because I knew with her there he would be ok.  I'm happy to know that she is now with my Dad and Aunty Peg. Until we meet again...❤

The month before Mom went to her Heavenly Home she prayed and asked for forgiveness of sins and invited Jesus into her heart ❤ as her loving Savior.  She knew where she was going and was not afraid - but so happy - to be going from love of family and friends into the all encompassing unconditional love that only heaven provides.

Although I didn’t spend much time with Pat I have had the good fortune to be part of her daughter (Karen’s) circle of friends.  Pat’s influence on Karen Len and Matthew were and are evident our the 30 plus years we have been friends.  I am confident Karen’s kindness…thoughtfulness ….compassion …organization and joy were grounded in the actions she learned from her mother. Much love and blessings as you tumble through the memories. Angela and Howard

I’m so sorry to hear the passing of my dear quilting friend Pat, we went to retreats together & met together different times for lunch etc even after we both moved away from the C Villas. But I’m so happy to read about her making the most important decisions in life she did a month before her passing & that is asking Jesus for forgiveness of sins & accepting Jesus to come into her heart & life !  We have the hope & assurance of being together one day again in heaven .🙏❤️
