MARIAN IRENE RUSHAK

November 8, 1942 - August 7, 2021

With heavy hearts, we announce that Marian passed away on August 7th, 2021, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 78 years.

She is survived by her son Trevor; daughter-in-law Marion; and grandsons, Liam and Aidan.

Marian, or Mrs. R as she was affectionately known, was a favorite fixture in the Louis Riel School Division where she worked as an EA for more than 30 years.  She had in that time left a huge imprint on her students; she loved her students and they certainly loved her.  The family was not able to go anywhere without hearing “that’s Mrs. R’s son/grandson!”

Marian’s family kindly requests that her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos and/or sharing your own memories and stories using the comment section on this page.

In Accordance with their wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.

If you wish to make a donation in Marian’s memory, please select an animal shelter or children’s charity, as both were close to her heart.

Condolences to Marian’s son, Trevor, and grandsons. I know she also had some relatives in Saskatchewan as I gave her a ride to Yorktown, Sask. to meet up with them. Marian was a fixture, in the Victor Mager School community during my time there and until she retired from her positions in the Before and After School Daycare and a classroom assistant ( IA /EA ). She had a giving nature and tried her best to meet her needs and those of others. She dearly loved 🥰 her son and grandsons. RIP Marian knowing you mattered and made a difference to many people.
