TIM (PAUL) RYPLANSKI

March 26, 1960 – November 2, 2025

It is with profound sadness that the family of Tim (Paul) Ryplanski announce his peaceful passing on Nov. 2, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He is finally out of the pain he has endured for the past 20 years of his life and is now at peace.

He was predeceased by his Mother, Ina Ryplanski; and Father, Paul Ryplanski; survived by his wife of 38 years Kim; daughter Kairee “pumpkin”; and son Jon (Bailey); siblings, Paulette (Paul), Paula (Darryl), Ted (Sherry); and many nieces and nephews.

From the age of 5, he developed a fascination with cars which followed him throughout his life and led to a lifelong passion for racing. He loved speed, the faster he went the happier he was.

He loved to fish, and some of his happiest days were spent with Tom on the water, sharing stories and reeling in memories together. You never knew how these fishing trips were going to end because they were always up to something.

He had a lifelong passion for fixing cars and could always be found tinkering in the garage. He believed in doing things the right way, not the quick way, and took pride in every repair. He was a devoted father, even though it was very difficult for him to do things physically and mentally, he always pushed through it to help his wife and kids as best he could.

One of his greatest joys was helping his daughter and son with their cars — whenever they came to him with a question, they would spend hours together in the garage, teaching them how to fix things ensuring they had the confidence and understanding to stand on their own and never be taken advantage of.

He loved his long talks and sharing his car knowledge with Jordan, who was like another son to him.

Tim was one of a kind, always there to help everyone no matter what it was, if you needed help, he was there.

Please join Tim’s family for an informal Celebration of Life held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Riverview Community Centre (90 Ashland Ave, Winnipeg, MB).

Our heartfelt condolences to the Ryplanski family. Tim was a longtime friend of my older brothers that I/we knew back when we lived on Kent Road. We never hung out, but I heard a ton about him! He worked on my car a few times when he had his shop on Burnett. And at that time I was selling advertising for the MTS Community phone book, and Tim was my first customer to purchase advertising. It's been a long time since then, but from the interactions I had with Tim; mainly to fix or get advice on vehicle repairs, he was just as friendly as he was helpful!

God "Speed" (such a fitting word!)

RIP Tim, No more pain to contend with Your final race is done! ,My condolences to Kim and families. Tim was a good man,he was well respected in the snowmobile racing community when he raced with us Ryback Racing. We won a few World Championships when Tim was driving our Race sleds. Best accomplishment was when we won the biggest and fastest class back in 1996, Open Mod 1000 in Gaylord Michigan. That year we also won 3rd out of 36 sleds in the Woody's Challenge at the same race. Just a note, we couldn't have had these accomplishments without Tim's expert driving and knowledge of what was happening during a 5.4 second run @132mph in 660 foot track on pure ice. He would come back from a run, needed a cigarette, to calm the nerves down then I would tune accordingly to Tim's excellent and valuable feedback on the pass with the help of our on board diagnostic review. That year was the highlight of both our racing careers. We had beat the best of the best in the world. We celebrated that evening at awards presentation.. Tim's back was a problem that required us to fly Tim the following year to Lewiston Michigan for the World Series race, was impossible to sit in truck for the long ride.. We raced successfully in 97 but a bad holeshot, bad ice, jeopardized our back to back win in 1997. We had to settle for a second place finish which our team was happy with. In Open Mod 1000. After that season Tim retired from racing snowmobiles. He was the best driver any race team could have wanted. We had success because of Tim"s driving and knowledge of what was going on during the run, he could feel where the run needed more or less weight. We had designed and built a clutch weight that worked for us, and eventually now that weight is used on many race sleds. Tim and I should have patented that weight. Thanks for the great ride Tim! You will never be forgotten. We will meet again one day buddy!

My sincere condolences to Kim, Kairee, Jon and family. I have so many great memories of Tim. He taught me about drag racing snowmobiles, mechanics, computers and life. Many an hour were spent in the shop in conversation about my life and with Tim giving me his perspective. My world was always broghter knowing that Tim was there.

Paula, my heartfelt condolences go out to you, your family and friends on the passing your brother Tim. Being neighbors during the time your family owned Great Falls Store I have fond memories playing with Tim in the evenings once the store had closed using it as a race track pushing each other around what I think was a peddle car. Also being invited by your family out to Wendigo Resort near LDB for a weekend supper followed by Tim and I playing at the pool while the adults enjoyed the pub and live entertainment. My childhood friend will be truly missed.
