KAITLYN ANNE SABOURIN

August 3, 1992 – August 15, 2026

With the most profound sadness and heartbreak, we announce the sudden passing of our sweet daughter Kaitlyn Anne Sabourin, on August 15, 2026, after a long and brave battle with addictions and mental illness.

Growing up, Kaitlyn loved reading, drawing, performing, and listening to music. In her elementary years, she performed as the star of a musical and sang in the school talent show. She loved all animals (especially birds, and most of all her pet cockatiel Peatree, who’d she call “mean bird”) and aspired to be a veterinarian one day.

Her sense of humour brought so much joy to her family, with her silly antics, crazy voices, and funny sayings (“are you tired or just pretending?”). She always tried to prolong bedtime with her brother Derek, performing a French song with disco moves, and her parents as the audience. Kaitlyn and her sister Ashley loved to torment Derek, especially with the Donkey Kong video game!

She was especially close to her late grandma, who loved to take her to the Disney store for princess nightgowns when she was younger.

Kaitlyn struggled for many years with mental health challenges and addictions. After a long journey, Jesus called her home.

Kaitlyn leaves behind her family; mom and dad, Ed and Karen Sabourin, Ashley (Andrew), their children Lex and Avery, Derek, and Daniella; Grandpa Frank Chanowski and Grandma Huguette Sabourin: many aunts, uncles, and cousins, including her special Auntie Lori and Auntie Florence (who went on many adventures together). She was predeceased by her Grandma Mary Jane Chanowski, her Grandpa Lucien Sabourin and her cousin Janelle McMullan.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a mental health/addiction charity of your choosing.

“The Lord is close to the

brokenhearted and saves

those who are crushed in spirit.”

– Psalm 34:17-18

Kaitlyn, I know we lost touch over the years, but I always loved you.

You never judged. You were curious about the world, and people were drawn to your magnetic personality. I remember your love for animals, all things girly, and the carefree times we spent together when life was simple.

You were resilient through so many difficult things. . I wish you could have seen in yourself the beautiful, funny, sweet person we all saw in you. I’m so sorry you were in pain.

My deepest condolences to your family. May you rest in peace. ❤️
