PATRICIA ALICE SANDERS

March 23, 1947 - March 14, 2026

My beloved mother, Patricia Sanders, passed away in her Winnipeg home on March 14, 2026 at the age of 78. She had battled Alzheimer’s for 17 years. My mom was so honest, kind and loving. She wasn’t just my mom, she was my best friend growing up. She will be so missed and will always be in my heart and mind.

I love you, Mom.

♥ – Shane.

Pat was born in Winnipeg to Joe and Alice Hogue and grew up on Marjorie Street and Ferry Road in St. James. In high school she became interested in hair design and before long she had enrolled at Marvel and the house on Ferry quickly became a center for hair design experiments. Pat began her career working at various local salons and continued working through a short-lived marriage and single-motherhood. Life was tough for Pat but she persevered.

Eventually she got a job in the automotive industry at Pembina Auto which led to a job at Piston Ring. Pat had always lived in the West End, and eventually she bought her own home on Minto Street. She was so proud of being able to own her little castle for herself and Shane.

Pat is survived by son Shane; brothers, Maurice Hogue (Pat) and Raymond Hogue (Rita); sister Phyllis Wain; and nephew Steve Wain.

Shane would like to acknowledge his Uncle Moe and Auntie Pat and neighbours Terri and Lorne for their love and assistance through this tough time, and Ethical Death Care for their care and concern.

Cremation has taken place and no service will be held. If you wish, charitable donations may be made in Patricia Sanders’ name to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba (alzheimer.mb.ca).

I had the pleasure of working with Patti in my teenage years at Piston Ring. She was a special amazing lady that I will always remember fondly.. My heart goes out to her family.
