My brother Roger & I send our condolences to the Butler and Saurette families, and Valerie's many friend as you celebrate her life today. We were childhood friends and spent many happy times together on each of our families farms. I am enclosing a picture of Valerie in 1959 and 1962

To a wonderful Sister and Antie

We little knew the day that

God was going to call your name.

In life we love you dearly

In death we do the same

It broke our hearts to lose you

but you didn't go alone.

For part of us went with you

the day God called you home

You left us peaceful memories.

Your love is still our guide,

And although we cannot see you

You are always at our side.

Our family chain is again broken

and nothing seems the same,

but as God calls us one by one

the chain will link again.

We sisters shared many glasses of wine and toasts together. This is one of my favourites, taken in South Texas.

My deep sympathy to read of Valerie's passing. I have many memories of Valerie and Mona in their younger years when we lived in Elm Creek. Fun times on their farm and visits with the Butler Family.

Memoris are Forever!

So very sorry to hear of Valerie's passing. I was the flower girl at Valerie's first wedding and remember her well from the Wingham days. Such a beautiful and kind person.

My deepest condolences to all of Val's family. We grew up together in the Wingham district just a few miles from each other.

The Wood family and the Butler's were great friends. We enjoyed birthday parties and great times. Val, you will be missed.

Our sincere sympathies to all of Valerie's family. We grew up with the Butler kids & they will always be family to us Schariens. So much fun whenever Val was around with her shenanigans & that sense of humour!

May her beautiful spirit live on in all who knew her.

I was so fortunate to have gotten to know Val. Such a joy! I went to watch The Jersey Boys live show while in South Texas with the sisters. It was so much fun! The fun carried over at Val's after the show-- using one-liners from the show like-- Get outta here! Of course all in Jersey accents. There may have been wine involved! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Val, a brave warrior forever in our hearts.

Our thoughts are with the entire family, Val had such a great smile and zest for life. We grew up together 1 mile apart, riding bikes back and forth down that sandy washboard road with Mona for many summers. She tried hard to beat the cancer but sometimes sadly it can't be done. But she gave it a hell of a try! 💕💕

Looking back over the last 35 years we have shared many memories of school concerts, baseball and hockey games and tournaments and wonderful Christmas and New Years celebrations. Our boys may have brought us together but our friendship kept us bonded.

The very first time my dad convinced me to go for a tube ride behind the boat (this kind back then had no middle/bottom) I was 5 years old. My dad told me not to let go no matter what.... so when my body fell through the middle I continued to hold on... we were close to the Saurette dock... the next thing I remember is Auntie Val taking the tube off my head... she had dove in and swam out to me (fully clothed and ready to go out for dinner) I remember saying "Hi Auntie Val, What are you doing out here" she was so worried something happened to me!! ❤️🥰❤️

My dear friend Val, I will miss our talks and your smiling face. We shared our winters in Texas, so many laughs and dinners together. It will not be the same without you. Rest in peace my friend.
