CHRISTOPHER (KIT) DALE SCHILE

November 1, 1953 – November 4, 2021

November 1, 1953 – November 4, 2021

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher (Kit) Dale Schile of Lac Du Bonnet, MB. He will be deeply missed by his Loving wife Linda (Dentrey) Schile of 43 years.  Kit passed away peacefully in Pinawa, Manitoba, November 4, 2021, at the age of 68, after short battle with cancer.

Kit was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, on November 1, 1953 to parents Frank & Margaret Schile. Kit had 5 brothers and sisters.  He went to school in Foremost Alta. Kit married Linda Dentrey, on June 2, 1978. Kit was a devoted husband, loving and protective brother & uncle, and a solid and steadfast friend to many.                                                                                                                                                                           Kits days growing up on the family farm groomed him for a career in the agriculture industry. Kit was a skilled farmer. His confidence and conversation skills made him a whiz at cultivating great relationships which served him well in his professional life as a farm implement sales consultant.

Kit worked on the farm, for the Foremost County Road crew, oil rigs, Bow Island New Holland Dealership Moved to MB as a young man and started out working at the Winnipeg University Hog research farm, New Holland Impl., Parkside equipment, Enns Brothers (John Deer Dealership) and retired. Kit really enjoyed farming so much he continued to help some farmers out, even after he retired his favorite piece of machinery to run was the Combine.

Kit loved the adventure of going Camping, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, and hanging out visiting.

Anyone who knew Kit knows he was smart, strong, ambitious, inventive, handy, successful, funny mischievous, & stubborn just to list a few. He loved to work hard and play hard too. He enjoyed his life! Most of all he was fiercely loyal to his family and friends which he cherished and held in the highest regard. He was grateful for them every day. Kit was most grateful for his loving wife Linda. He always commented how lucky he was to have such a wonderful woman that would, and I quote “put up with him, and love him despite his fault. “

Our Kit will be deeply missed, he was taken from us much too soon. For those of us that have the distinct privilege and honor of calling him husband, brother, uncle and friend, we will live with the peace that we are better people for having had him in our lives and he will live on in all of us.

Kit is survived by his wife Linda; siblings, Elizabeth Cook of Lethbridge, Renae (Jeff) Scott of Lethbridge, Susan (Larry) Penn of Calgary and Wayne (Carol) Schile of Lethbridge; sister In-Law Barbara (Jay) Schile of Fort Macleod; as well as numerous nieces & nephews. Kit was predeceased by his Dad Frank; Mom Margaret; and Brother Jay.

Kit spoke of his deep and heartfelt appreciation for Dr Bruneau, and all the doctors, nurses and staff, that comforted and helped him through his final days. He called the nursing staff his personal angels and spoke very highly of them. The family appreciates all you have done.

Cremation has occurred. If friends should desire, donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba or charity of your choice.

A celebration of Kit’s life will be announced at a later date. In the meantime, Kit's family kindly request that his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Our deepest sympathy to Linda and family.  We were so grateful to be able to visit with Kitt and Linda recently.  Reminiscing about our yearly camping trip, including the community suppers, the stories around bonfires and endless laughter.  This is not a goodbye, it is see you later. We were so saddened by Kit’s sudden passing and send deepest condolences to Linda and family.  We first met Kit when he became our John Deere salesman for Enns Bros.  We always knew when Linda needed something new for the house as Kit would be on the yard soon after trying to sell us something!  And he was a great salesman because he could anticipate what we needed even before we knew we needed it!  Kit introduced us to the Lac du Bonnet area through snowmobiling, and because Linda was tired of all the boys sleeping on her floor every weekend, he helped us find our own lot near by.  Kit was a great help - insulating and finishing the garage interior, building the boat and the “hose” house and checking on our place when we were away.  Even this July, we were both up on our roof repairing shingles because “it had to get done and no one else was going to do it”. He knew one way to build - HIS WAY!  As I sit here on Saturday morning, with the wood stove warming up our cottage and a coffee in my hand, I keep listening for a knock at the door to announce Kit’s arrival for a coffee or a beer.  But it is silent, so I have to rely on my memory to relive our good times together.  Gone but not forgotten.  Rest In Peace Kit.

Very sad to learn of Kits passing. So many great memories from our farming days in the Fort Whyte Oak Bluff area. We always shared our best set ups for the New Holland Twin Rotor Combines to share with other farmers. RIP Kit ....you were a gem buddy.

I was deeply saddened when I heard of Kit's passing. Truly a great guy. Sold me my first John Deere combine. If I recall correctly I ran out of fuel before I got it home from Enns Bros. Of course I had to remind him of that many times after. Lol.     I know he has already made many friends in heaven and is celebrating "it's 5 o'clock some where".

My condolences to Linda and family! I met Kit in 1981 when we bought our first New Holland combine. Kit worked at Avonlea Farm and was an awesome salesman. We then became good friends and had many good times.  Rest In Peace Kit! ❤️ Brian Bonne

It's still so hard to believe that you're gone Uncle Kit. I can hear your voice and that laugh of yours in this beautiful video tribute. I've not known my life without you in it nor have my boys. We will miss you so incredibly much but will forever remember and cherish all the time we got to spend camping, playing cards, sharing holiday meals and most importantly holding your hand during our last visit. You were a special man loved by many. Rest easy Uncle Kit, we'll take care of Auntie Linda.  With much love,  Dallas, Shane, Jonah and Colton

One of the most memorable moments I remember with uncle kit, is wrestling with him then he would wrap me up in a blanket so tight that I couldn’t move.  It was always fun seeing him!  He will me missed!  Condolences and love to Aunty Linda ❤️

What a beautiful tribute video to a life well lived. Kits love for his wife, family & friends ran deep and strong. I will miss his straight talking ways, ‘Kitting’ around and generosity. Most of all I’ll miss his sharp mind, easy smile, and ‘that’ laugh! He’s gone too soon, Uncle Snookie (to me) will live on in our hearts. Be at peace❤ With my deepest sympathy and love to Aunt Linda.

It is still hard to comprehend that you are gone. It was just a few months back that we were laughing together and you were looking forward to some fall fishing with Linda in your new boat. How things can change so quickly. However, our time together can never be taken away. I will always appreciate you being there for me and my family. You made it seem like it was never an inconvenience - the truest trait of what being is friend is all about. You worked hard and took pride in everything you did. Your word meant something, and you never swayed from your values - do what’s right, treat others how you wanted to be treated, make the extra effort, and always save time for a beer or several. You taught me many things over the seventeen years we shared at our corner in Bonnet Oaks. Me, you, and Guy had something special. We could be downright “goofy” and yet still come up with ways to solve all the worlds problems. It won’t be the same without you in our lives - but we will keep a place in our heart for you. I will miss pulling in the driveway and seeing your smile. Too bad that your life’s tape measure didn’t extend another foot or two. Reflection will help us through these difficult times. Thanks for being you my friend!

You were an awesome brother in law. Always enjoyed every moment we shared camping , fishing, visiting and drinking beers. When I held your hand on our last visit I really felt the love you had for everyone. You were in good spirits and still joking around. I would take those tickets to Mexico ONLY if you could go with me(and our wives). Will miss you til we meet again.  God bless you Kit!  Cheers. It's 5 o'clock somewhere.

To say you will be missed is a massive understatement. We will be forever grateful for all the laughs and good times we have shared. We will miss all the stubborn arguments we have had....and the make up beers after them:). We appreciate all the support you have given us over the years and for always having our backs. Most of all we appreciate the unconditional love. We will move forward remembering and loving you for all the things you were to us. Rest in Peace Cherished Big Brother Susan & Larry Penn ❤❤❤❤
