DANIEL JOSEPH SCOTT

1959 – 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Daniel Scott, age 66, on May 13, 2026.

Daniel joined the McTaggart family as a young child in the 1960s, gaining five siblings — Cathy, Betty, Bob (deceased), Michele, and Joe — and becoming a cherished brother. He loved spending time at the lake, especially early morning fishing at the end of the dock with his brothers. During high school, he worked part time at the hall and took great pride in earning his own pay.

Daniel remained closely connected to the family throughout his life. He dreamed of becoming an electrician and, although life took him in different directions, he never lost his passion for electronics. He spent countless hours tinkering, fixing, and taking things apart simply to understand how they worked. His faith and church community were also important constants in his life.

Daniel found joy, friendship, and a sense of belonging at the House of Silver, where the companionship of Robert and Bonny meant so much to him. Their steady support helped him feel more comfortable and secure in his later life.

We are also deeply grateful to the staff of Pulford Community Living Services' Paterson Home for their kind and attentive care.

A Celebration of Daniel's Life will be held at a later date.

Daniel will be remembered as a humble, gentle, quiet soul who never sought attention yet left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Though he walked through life with gentle steps, he leaves behind footprints that will not soon fade.

We were so saddened to hear this news. We knew 'Danny' from our Church which he attended for many years. He did not have an easy road in this life, but did not give up and made do with what he had. He was soft spoken, gentle, and liked a good joke. Church will not be the same without him and he will be very much missed. Indeed, in the last year while he was unable to attend he was often in our prayers and we had hoped to see him back in his usual spot. May God grant him rest and make his memory eternal. We will not forget him and will do our best to keep his memory alive. Our condolences to all those who knew him and our heartfelt gratitude to those who showed him love and kindness in this life.

Some people leave behind loud memories, but he left behind warm ones. Daniel had such a soft and kind heart that being around him always felt comforting. He loved to joke around, tell stories, and make people smile even on ordinary days. One of the things everyone will always remember was how excited he would get about finding a good deal whether it was something small or big, he genuinely enjoyed sharing it with others like he had discovered a hidden treasure.

His kindness was quiet but constant, and he treated everyone with warmth and respect. Conversations with him never felt rushed, he listened, laughed, shared stories, and made people feel seen. I still remember one day he jokingly asked me to use a vacuum to clean his ears that was just the kind of humor he had. Silly, unexpected, and enough to make everyone laugh.

The world feels a little quieter without him here, but the memories he gave us the laughter, the stories, the little tips and jokes, will stay in our hearts for a very long time. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

May the love and memories he shared bring comfort during this difficult time, and may he rest in Heaven.

My heartfelt condolences on the passing of Daniel, a gentle and kind man. He was always calm, soft-spoken, and treated everyone around him with warmth and respect. He will also be remembered for the joy and pride he took in finding good bargains while shopping; it always made him happy. May his soul rest in peace, and may God grant the family strength and comfort during this difficult time.
