DEBRA LEE SCOTT

(née KYJANKA)

June 21, 1956 - October 25, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother Debra Scott on the evening of October 25, 2022 in the HSC Hospital at the age of 66. Debra passed away peacefully with her three loving daughters by her side.

Debra is survived by her daughters Sherry, Andrea (Peter), Dawn (Brad), her siblings Edward, Robert and Darlene and her grandchildren Wesley, Bradley, Katarina, Talia, Gabriella, Drew and Blake. Debra was predeceased by her parents Kasey and Mabel Kyjanka and the love of her life Doug McPhee.

Debra was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB where she lived her entire life. Debra retired at the age of 60 from Canada Revenue Agency where she made many friendships over the years. Those that knew Debra, knows her passion for nostalgia, Elvis Presley and the color purple.

Debra was always the life of the party and had an amazing ability to make friends everywhere she went. Debra was hardworking and always put her daughters first even if it meant going without. She was even a second mom to all of her daughters’ friends growing up especially our "sister" Haylee Tabak. She had many lasting friendships throughout her life but one best friend that always stood by her Debbie Makichuk.

Debra will be deeply missed by all her family and friends and every life she has touched. The family would like to thank the staff at HSC for getting to know and caring for Mom over these past nine months.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 6 at the 4 Crowns Restaurant from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm at 1030 McPhillips Street. Burial will be held at a later date for family only.

It breaks our hearts that you were taken too soon.

Goodbyes are not forever,

goodbyes are not the end.

They simply mean you will be missed

until we meet again.

Debbie Wright (Lauk) Debbie Makichuk and Debbie Kyjanka were great friends when younger. Known around as "The 3 Debbies". She will be greatly missed, but the good times and memories live on in our hearts forever.

Debbie, this still seems so unreal. You were the toughest person I knew and I never thought for a second that the last time we saw you would be our last.  We will always be here for your girls and grandkids. Thank you for being like a second mom all those years ago and sorry for always eating your Velveeta cheese! 😁   I am sure Doug was waiting for you with open arms and you guys are having a blast!!  P.S Dave is sure going to miss all your guy's flirting! LOL!!  😍 We love you!  Jenn, Dave and Sydnie
