TREVOR JAMES SCOUTEN

October 23, 1966 - March 24, 2024

It’s with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce Trevor has passed away, at the Health Science Centre, after a 5 year battle with Primary Biliary Cholangitis.

Trevor is predeceased by his mother Deanne Rickner (nee Coomb) of Winnipeg, MB.  He was predeceased by his father-in-law Steve Shuwera whom he loved with all his heart. He wished he could’ve met Steve’s wife Doris before her passing as he felt she must’ve been a wonderful loving and nurturing woman. Also predeceased by step brothers Brian Gillis and Barry Gillis.

Trevor will be sadly missed by his common-law wife and soulmate of 14 years Christine Shuwera. You will be forever in my heart.

Trevor Will be sadly missed by his father James Scouten (Diane Bergeron) of Gage, New Brunswick.  He will be remembered by his only son Christopher Budd Scouten of Winnipeg Manitoba and Trevor’s baby sister Sherry Scouten of Teulon, Manitoba. Siblings Jodi Gillis, Jowel (Gary) and children, Eric (Kristen) and children, Alain (Alissa), Patrick (Jennifer).

Trevor will be sadly missed by his in-laws Robert Wiwchar and his wife Donna Shuwera.  Louis Bourgouin and his wife Debbie Shuwera.  Also, he will be missed by his life brothers Ron Mojelsky (Leeann Van), Andy Mojelsky (Cheryl), Doug Friesen (Kelly) and Ken Chapman (Linda) of Niagra Falls.

As well, his only relatives, Uncle Wayne and Breanda Johanesson and their children Tammy (Wayne) Wieghtman and their children of Okla, Saskatchewan. Travis (Cathryn). Johanesson and their children of Anola, Manitoba. His Uncle Paul Combe and Auntie Judy and their children Chad, Kirby and Cory of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Trevor’s passion for Harley Davidson‘s rode  deep in his heart as he truly enjoyed working with his bro’s Mojo and Doug at Innovative cycle.

Trevor had many honourable qualities which included his wonderful sense of humour and his infectious laugh, his beautiful smile that he always had on his face.  Trevor lived in Winnipeg after graduating from Sisler High in Winnipeg Manitoba. Then later moved just passed Ste. Anne’s, Mb as he loved living in the country. Unfortunately his terminal illness prevented him from working at innovative cycle Which weighed heavy on his heart. It killed him inside as he was not able to work and help his bro Mojo.  He then decided to leave  Winnipeg as he disliked living in the city and wanted to move closer to Riding Mountain where he enjoyed being there as a child with his grandparents.  He then decided to relocate to Elphinstone which was almost 2 years ago as he wanted to pass somewhere where he felt at peace.  Elphinstone and the surrounding communities such as Sandy Lake, Keeseekoowenin First Nation, Erickson, Newdale as well as many other small towns in the area welcomed us with open arms and hearts. Trevor was so grateful to meet such caring  and wonderful people and had become friends with everyone he met.  He was able to get farm raised beef from a great couple of farmers Trish and Dwayne.  Free range chicken and eggs from Summer and Blue who are a couple of great people. Also organic grown veggies n fruit also from Summer. He especially enjoyed getting Kolbassa that was made fresh by his friend Dwayne Bain of Elphinstone Kolbassa. Thanks Nadia and Sean for all the Bannock. Thanks so much as all of guys helped Trevor a lot by eating food without preservatives or any chemicals. He also got a Baba out there that he never had before whom he loved dearly.  He loved the talks he had with his Baba Karen after he finished trying to help her with things around her home as she is a senior by herself.

I want to thank my sister Donna and her husband Robbie for opening up their home for myself and Trevor‘s little girl Treat his fur baby for almost 2 months. Without Donnas home cooked meals and Robbie taking me back and forth to HSC everyday I would have been lost. Watching Trevor’s little girl and being there for me during these hard days means so much to me. Trevor thanked them everyday when he was still able to talk

To all the staff  at MICU and GH6 at the Health Science Centre thank you for trying your best  to help Trevor get better in order to go home. Minnedossa Hospital staff for taking care of him and getting him to Brandon hospital to have Trevor flown to HSC.

I especially wanna thank Dr. Peretz, his Liver Specialist and his nurse Carolyn at HSC for their many years of assisting Trevor with his treatment for PBC. As well Keeseekoowenin First Nation Health Centre and Band office  wonderfull staff for helping us when we needed them the most. Also to all our friends of Keeseekoowenin First Nation Thank you! Especially Norma and Norbert Girard who drove me back and forth from home so I could be with Trevor. Thanks so much for all your help. Migwich!

Thank you Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation for being there and helping me during my time of need.  It is greatly appreciated. Migwich!

I personally want to thank Ron Mojelsky for being there for me all these years and past few hard months for answering all the many many calls and texts for listening to my cries for help and giving me moral support and reminding me so much to be strong for Trevor.  I will never forget it man!, I see why Trevor always thought and spoke so highly of you!!!   Thank you Mojo!

A celebration of life will be held in Elphinstone Hall early June of this year. Trevor will then go on his final ride with all his Bros and friends to have his ashes released into Clear Lake where he loved to be so much.

Thank you Ethical death Care of Winnipeg, Manitoba for their assistance and arrangements of Trevor cremation. Trevor’s cremation has already taken place.

If so desired and in lieu of flowers, you may make a memorial donation to the Canadian Liver Foundation of Manitoba, to Veteran Affairs in memory of Trevor’s dad James Scouten and his grandfather Warren Coomb who served in WW2 (thank you to good friend, Ron Yorke, for open up our eyes to how Canadian Veteran are mistreated), or donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of his mother Deanne.

Ride Hard Trevor my love!!!  Ride Hard !!!!!!!!!!
