In Loving Memory of
KAREN SEDGWICK

August 29, 1949 – October 18, 2025

Surrounded by loved ones, Karen Sedgwick passed away at Riverview Health Centre on October 18th, 2025.

Born in 1949, just minutes before her beloved twin sister Sharon, Karen never let her forget who came first. Together, they were the heart of their family—bringing everyone together for meals, celebrations, and laughter that echoes through generations.

Karen’s favourite place to be was at the family cottage in Victoria Beach, surrounded by friends and family. The more chaos, the better. She thrived in the company of loved ones (and their four-legged friends), where laughter, good food, and good times filled the air. Whether sharing stories over a glass of wine or playing a lively game of cards, Karen found joy in connection and togetherness.

Karen’s passing leaves a deep and lasting void in the lives of all who knew and loved her. She leaves to mourn her greatest joys—her two sons, Rob (Pam) and Paul, with whom she shared a close and loving daily connection; her cherished grandchildren, Lila and William; her devoted sisters, Robyn and Jayne; and her beloved nieces and nephews, Coleen, Jason, Laura, and Anders. She is also remembered fondly by many extended family members and dear friends, all of whom will miss her deeply.

She was predeceased by loving husband Rick, her parents, Irene and Doug; and her twin sister, Sharon. It brings some comfort to think of them together again.

Karen was the strongest woman we knew. Life threw plenty of challenges her way, but she faced each one with courage, a lifted chin, and a heart full of love. No matter what was going on, she stood tall—always surrounded by her family. Her strength, warmth, and love for those around her are what we’ll remember most. Karen had a special gift for bringing people together, and that’s how she’ll live on in all of us.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14th, 2025 at 603 Wellington Crescent (First Universalist Unitarian Church).

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.

“So long Karen.

We hate to see you go.”

Dear Rob & Paul, Robyn & Jayne, Sending sincere condolences to you and your families. I considered both Karen & Sharon dear friends since junior high. Your Mom and sister was so proud of her family. With Sharon, they were a dynamic duo of love, fun, strength and support. Peace Be With You,
