CHRISTOPHER EDWARD SETTEE
July 21, 1961 –May 29,2023
With heavy hearts, we announce that Chris passed away on May 29, 2023 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 61 years.
Christopher is predeceased by his father Brian Settee; grandparents, Bertha and William Fox, and Esther and Norman Settee; aunts, ancles and cousins.
He is survived by his mother Jeanine Fox; siblings, Clifford and Carlisle (Jolene); nephews, Taylor (Alexia) and Eddy (Dayna); great-nieces, Eliana and Amelia; great-nephew Lucas; many cousins, aunts, and uncles; good friend John Paul Lavand, and other friends.
Chris was born in Winnipeg and raised in Elmwood. The family also rented a cabin in Grand Marais from mid 60’s up until 1979 being their final year. It was their home away from home!

In the winter months Chris enjoyed playing hockey. He played for Chalmers, Kelvin and Bronx over his childhood years.
Prior to moving to Thunder Bay he held a few part-time jobs while finishing school here. Chris’s last summer in Winnipeg he stayed in the city and worked at a lumber yard. May of 1980 Christopher and Clifford packed up their belongings and at 19 and 18 made the move out to Thunder Bay to work for United Grain Growers (UGG) as Grain Handlers. Chris started a life out there for himself!
By 1994, Christopher made the decision to move back to Winnipeg. Being a little home sick, he wanted to be here for the birth of his youngest brother’s baby, also reunite with family and friends.
Shortly after being home Chris sought employment. He liked to tinker with cars like his dad and started working for RJ’s Towing Company. Chris loved working outside and was employed with Bridges Golf Course and St. Boniface Golf Course as a ground’s keeper. Then went into landscaping.
We would like to thank the Cardiology Department at St. Boniface Hospital for all their work.
In Accordance with their wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
Christopher’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.
