LENA SHORE

January 26, 1971 – November 24, 2021

Peacefully on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, Lena Shore passed away at Saint Boniface Hospital with family by her side at the age of 50.

Lena is survived by her five children, Samuel, Jordan, Chelsea, Ty, Kimberly-Paige; three brothers, Rod (Kathy), Ed (Crystal), and Barry; and numerous relatives. Lena is predeceased by her father, Max, and mother, Mabel.

Born in Winnipeg, MB, where she lived her entire life, Lena had one aspiration; to be a mother. She was gifted the opportunity to be a loving and caring mother to three sons and two daughters, who loved her sevenfold. She managed to raise all five of her kids as a single mother. Something that was never easy, but with as much drive and power within her, Lena put in the work and the hours to make sure her five kids could take what's theirs out of the world. All this love for her children led her to become much more involved firsthand down a path volunteering at Faraday School. Putting her foot into the door with volunteer work led Lena to spend half of her life with the Winnipeg School Division.

Lena was a treasured member of the Winnipeg School Division and Faraday School for over 25 years. Lena took many roles over her time at Faraday School. In recent years, Lena was an educational assistant, a long-time member of the crossing guard team, and provided valuable support within the school's office. Over the years, Lena had many additional roles. Lena worked the school's lunch program for numerous years, spearheaded the school's hearing tests and immunizations, worked in the school's library and helped run Faraday School's parent room. One of the biggest contributions she had with the school was during her stint as the head of the parent council, where she led the fundraising efforts for a brand new play structure in the mid-2000s. She will be deeply missed in the school community and the neighbourhood.

Cremation has taken place and private service will be held on Saturday, December 4.

Lena was one of the kindest and most giving person we have ever known...she never put herself first for anything...When you wanted to do something for her, you had to fight to get her to say ok...She loved her children more than life itself...she was a blessing at Faraday School...She will be greatly missed...May Lena's memory forever be a blessing 😢💔

I met Lena when I supported her as a parent volunteer and in the family room. Her genuineness and kindness made sure every parent was welcomed into the parent room. To Her children , you had a mom who loved you beyond measure and she was so proud of each of you. May she Rest In Peace. Karen

As Lena's ex husband and friend I can honestly say she was a terrific Mom and a kind hearted individual which she inherited from her mother.  She is and will be missed and to be taken at such a young age is unfair and tragic 😥.  RIP Lena, you will never be forgotten!
